A prominent ally of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis with unprecedented access to local authorities and reportedly under investigation for alleged sexual misconduct has died in what is being investigated as a suicide.
Kent Stermon, 50, of Jacksonville, was found dead in a truck parked outside the Atlantic Beach post office around 8 p.m. Thursday, the Florida Times-Union reported.
Stermon had been reported missing by his wife, Christie, after his heart monitor stopped earlier that day, the First Coast News reported.
Shortly after the discovery of his body, police announced they were investigating his death as a suicide.
Stermon was under investigation for alleged sexual misconduct at the time of his death, law enforcement sources told the Times-Union.

He’s from Jacksonville, which is the sane part of Florida... or the most redneck. He might have been offed to pave the way for more Miami types to fill up DeSantis’s administration.

It's a well known fact that no man has ever committed suicide after a dalliance with a hot adult blonde, or a brunette, Ginger, etc.
If you know dark secrets about someone it has historically been very bad for your health if that guy decides to run for President.
1. clot shot, or
2. knew too much on the Clintons, or
3. was overheard in Florida saying Bobby Bowden wasn't good enough to shine Jimbo's shoes.
Oh good God. You become prominent, it’s likely some of your supporters will be jerks. Whether predators, or financial games, anything, you’re likely to have some bad people in there.

Maybe I am becoming paraparanoid but I expect we will see more of these types of stories. Are they true? Some are perhaps but even the false ones stick to and damage people so I suspect a portion will be manufactured with smearing DeSantis the ultimate aim.
Of course, they also have a lot of disaffected conservatives who have swallowed the 'DeSantis is a DEEP STATE TOOL!' Kool-Aid and are apparently happy to do the left's work for them.
RAT donors do this all of the time and it never makes the “news”.

“Unchecked access” to an office that nonetheless opened up a prosecutorial investigation that led to his suicide.
So apparently this guy was DeSantis’ landlord when DeSantis had to suddenly move to remain in his district after off-year redistricting and in return made a mid-sized campaign donation ($50,000). This is the opposite of how money laundering works. If you’re trying to nefariously influence a politician, you want to help him convert campaign finances (which a typical House candidate would have millions of dollars of, but can’t spend for his own benefit) into actual wealth for the candidate.

Your assumption is wrong. Legally sexual misconduct refers to offenses ranging from workplace harassment, exposure, improper touching, sexual coercion,rape and such offenses. The official definition will vary by state. Under Florida Statute its definition and prohibition is usually found in laws regarding professional conduct. It is not used to define the sexual assault of minors.
He very well could be a deep state tool. The jury is out. I will wait to see if he runs and who is backing him if he does run. People don’t give Trump any free passes if he willingly or unwillingly associates with a person who end up a little shady. DeSantis should not get a free pass either.
He needs to research his friends and people he takes money from in the future.
