Trump sues Pulitzer Prize board for defamation for awarding WaPo and NYT’s ‘Russiagate’ coverage

Former President Donald Trump has filed a defamation lawsuit against the Pulitzer Prize board for jointly awarding the New York Times and Washington Post the 2018 National Reporting prize over their coverage of the Russian collusion scandal.

Trump’s lawsuit, filed Tuesday in Okeechobee County, Florida, claims that the “demonstrably false connection was and remains the stated basis” for the papers’ award-winning coverage, Fox News reported.

“A large swath of Americans had a tremendous misunderstanding of the truth at the time the Times’ and the Post’s propagation of the Russia Collusion Hoax dominated the media,” the complaint states. “Remarkably, they were rewarded for lying to the American public.”

The Washington Post and the Times received the award for their “deeply sourced, relentlessly reported coverage in the public interest that dramatically furthered the nation’s understanding of Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election and its connections to the Trump campaign, the President-elect’s transition team and his eventual administration,” according to the Pulitzer website.

I would be interested in the discovery process for such a suit. What documents and contacts were made in an effort to determine the winner? Was there additional libel taking place on an individual basis as well?

Maybe there will be a bit of sunshine revealed...

>Trump will forever be obsessed with 2020 and its is consuming him.<

Don’t you see the play here? He sued in Okeechobee County for a reason. Trump carried the county with 72.3% of the votes in 2020. There is no way the Pulitzer Prize board can get a favorable jury.

When Pulitzer argues about the unfairness, Trump’s team will use that as exhibit A in its NY appeal.

It’s the left that can’t let go of 2016 that keeps 2020 alive.

Trump is fighting for us, you’re blind if you cannot see the extent of the corruption extending past the democrat politicians. The breadth of the enemy saturation is truly horrifying,

A little gratitude to Trump for fighting our fight would be the appropriate response.

It won’t get to a jury. The case is without merit and will be dismissed.

Trump is right about the Pulitzers, but his chances of winning are zero and the chance that this suit will help him is less than that.

Does he actually pay those lawyers. Rudy seems upset that Trump never paid him.

Once-respected institutions across America in EVERY field, have sold themselves for cooperation with the woke-state and its politics, to maintain their power, wealth and influence. Its a kind of fascism.

I get what you are saying, but I was just thinking of the cost, it must be huge. I am not saying it’s not worth it, I was just marveling at what it must cost.

The Left want's reparations for something that ended 157 years ago but Trump is “obsessed” for wanting to correct an injustice that happened only 4 years ago.

Can't we just focus on 2024?

And let them win by not calling them out?

The Pulitzer committee will never take back the award because they hate Trump, but in court, they are going to have to admit that the story was bogus.

There is no way the Pulitzer Prize board can get a favorable jury.

Like all of Trump's lawsuits, it won't get that far because the judge will toss the case at the earliest opportunity.

Where's the Kraken?

Given the recent track record, I don’t think he is hiring the best, most connected attorneys.

Trump will forever be obsessed with 2020 and its is consuming him.

2020 was stolen, and the RINO-controlled state legislatures who oversaw the Steal did NOTHING to secure election integrity for 2022 because MAGA would have benefited from it. We all need to be obsessed with 2020 until we get some election reform from state legislatures who thankfully will have more MAGA members in 2023.

“””I like focusing on the totally corrupt dem/media machine. Of course, the machine squelches the news and oddly you seem to want to. Focusing on that machine going into ‘24 is essential. The machine is bigger, stronger, more corrupt than ever today. I’m sure Trump gains much satisfaction rubbing their noses in it. I do.”””

I agree. Far too many people forget how corrupt the news media is. This is a good way to bring attention to the media’s corruption. Like yourself I am enjoying the satisfaction of rubbing the media’s nose in their corrupt practices.

There was a time in our history that the Pulitzer Prize had meaning. As did the Nobel Prize.

~~~
True, but how long are you going to hang on to your money?
You’re approaching your late seventies, you’ve not only had a successful life, but you became a celebrity and an icon, mostly surrounding your money and your personality, you became President of the United States, you’ve been attacked incessantly ever since, and not only do you genuinely believe you were cheated out of your re-election, but you have been investigated and sued repeatedly by rogue elements of the justice system.
So, other than running for President again, I repeat the question. Are you just going to hang on to your money?
Or are you going to return fire?
