Leaked documents indicate over 300 members of far-right paramilitary Oath Keepers may be current or former DHS employees, Project on Government Oversight reports

A leaked membership list suggests that Oath Keepers have infiltrated the Department of Homeland Security.

More than 300 members of the paramilitary group describe themselves as current or former DHS employees.

DHS did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Just weeks after Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes was convicted of seditious conspiracy for trying to violently overturn the 2020 election, a leak of the paramilitary group's membership list has revealed that potentially hundreds of far-right extremists have infiltrated federal law enforcement, the Project on Government Oversight reported on Monday.

Launched in 2009, the Oath Keepers from the start tried to recruit from the military and law enforcement with an ostensible goal of upholding the US Constitution and having its members refuse unlawful orders, per the Southern Poverty Law Center, which labels it an "extremist" group. In practice, that has meant, as on January 6, rejecting the rule of law — court orders and democratic processes that thwart far-right policy goals — in favor of conspiracy theories and armed resistance.

“...A leaked membership list suggests that Oath Keepers have infiltrated the Department of Homeland Security...”

I suspect it’s the other way around. DHS employees fed up with liberal and woke policies dictating DHS joined the Oath Keepers.

The total number of Oathkeepers is about 300, isn’t it?

And no doubt the FBI. If the FBI would be so fanatically corrupt as to be involved in censorship at Twitter to protect a criminal enterprise, then it isn’t that a far jump to assume they would be involved in organizing a frame up as well. “Come on everybody, this way to the capital”

And if you noticed, right after Jan.6th the FBI fanatically arrested anyone even remotely near the capital for the next 2 years. I remember looking at the FBIs Facebook page a year after Jan.6th and it was just one “WANTED” post after another after another for Jan.6th protestors. No wanted posts for Antifa, BLM, terrorists, everything was Jan.6th. Why? For the sole purpose of destroying Donald Trump, the #1 threat to the enemy occupation of our government that was instituted by B.Hussein and his “fundamental transformation” EVERYTHING in our go

I guess this leak is O.K. and not one of those “bad” leaks. As if the headline editorial “far-right” wasn’t bad enough, we learn that Oath Keepers are “paramilitary.” It’s funny but I’ve never heard that term applied to Antifa or BLM.

Aside from all the slanted garbage, there is the notable observation that the Oath Keepers think people should keep their oath to uphold the Constitution. If that is “far-right,” then hurray for the far right.

I don’t give a crap about the Oath Keepers as threats of some kind to this country.

I have met a few Oath Keepers (or people who were considering joining them) back before the Left and the Media managed to paint them as violent, racist, misogynist, and anti-American, and my impression of them was positive. They were former military, mostly.

People who took their oath to protect the Constitution of the United States, and I didn’t see any reason to doubt their sincerity or faithfulness to that oath they once took.

Are there some who are violent, racist, misogynist, and even anti-American? No doubt.

But when you balance that percentage agaisnt the massive quantity of those on the Left who are fully violent, racist, misogynist, and anti-American, it makes their number pitifully small by any metric. To me, we have far more to fear from our own government, Big Tech, Big Pharma, and the media, not to mention the likes of BLM/Antifa.

We have allowed the media to paint these people as “far right insurrectionists” that we should fear. We have allowed the Left/Media to frame the narrative on them, to the point people are afraid to admit they have even met one of them.

The Southern Poverty Law Center is a left-wing extremist group just like the ADL, they’re composed of interchangeable parts.

Yeah...Ministry of Information and all that! I believe that the DHS has been effectively weaponized. They’re really the same as the FIB!

FYI, although you already likely know this...the "Project On Government Oversight" (POGO) is a far Left organization at first glance. I went to their website and drilled down on a few of the people at random, and the short biographies they post on them have references to awards they have received from other organizations, and they are not the kind of people who love America and its historic values.

You can see some of them at Project On Government Oversight: Board and Staff

Granted, I only checked a few, but the first two I checked at random were people I wouldn't shake hands with.

I also find that nearly anytime (with exceptions) you have an organization that touts itself as "bipartisan" it is anything but. And those Leftists just LOVE their acronyms.

I suspected from reading the title, but verified by drilling down. Just information to keep in mind.

See my post above on this “Project On Government Oversight” organization. The subject and title make sense when you look at who and what they are.

This is a very questionable report. Both the Southern Poverty Law Center, which is quoted as a reliable source, and the publisher of the piece are far left. Neither should be trusted.

You forget how the narratives are created.

With GOP investigations, it is going to be revealed that many members of the Proud Boys were employees of the DHS.

So, to get ahead of that revelation, they fabricate this story that the Proud Boys are infiltrating the DHS instead.

That way their brain-dead supporters do not recognize that the Proud Boys is just a front for a DHS operation in the same way the Gov Whitmer kidnappers were just a front for an FBI operation.

“Oath Keepers have infiltrated the Department of Homeland Security.”

Well, there’s certainly some infiltration going on. Gee, the government would never attempt to infiltrate and control a “right wing” group, would they?

I had a hard time deciphering what it meant and had to reread it. But apparently they’re making the argument that these DHS people are voluntarily members of that organization. They believe in what it stands for.

To be an Oathkeeper, you must have, at some point, taken the oath. The oath:

“I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.”

Also, police officers are eligible and take a similar oath. It stands to reason, then, to be an Oathkeeper you had to have worked for the government in some form, military or law enforcement. To make claims that Oathkeepers are infiltrating the very organizations they represented to take the oath is ridiculous.

Only in today’s bizarro world does reconfirming your commitment to the oath make you antigovernment.

This is laughable. At this point we must assume that 150 of them were actual patriots still working at DHS and being edged out and the other half were deep state reptilians embedded in Oath Keepers to discredit the organization as domestic terrorists. Its all getting sooo predictable.

“May be members...” Weasel words. How cute. By the way, we supposedly have freedom of association in this country, so what is wrong with being a member of Oath Keepers even if it is “far right?”

Until the last 2 years, I never heard Oath Keepers referred to a “far right paramilitary.” Soon it will be “radical right paramilitary terroristic”
