That was Scarborough, on today's Morning Joe, feigning laughter at Mike Barnicle's mention that Kevin McCarthy and the new Republican majority intend to subpoena 51 members of the intelligence community who signed a letter that falsely called the New York Post's Hunter Biden exposé "Russian disinformation."

It’ll probably be Joe and the rest of the commies on the morning show. If any investigation does actually happen under McCarthy, high probability nothing will come of it.

Mike Barnacle, another disgraced, discredited “journalist” who found a warm welcome at a far-left network.
They hire these guys because they have something on them, and they won’t stray from the party line because they need the job.
I guess I don’t understand why these 51 would have to be subpeonedaed. I thought they were itching to come forward and tell their story under oath.
Then why have the hearings?
Barnicle didn’t just lift lines, he lifted entire stories (pre-internet) from Mike Royko, among others. Did he think people from Chicago never read Boston papers, or vice-versa? Some of Barnicle’s fabrications reeked of apocrypha, and were actually his best reporting, though obviously inauthentic, and unoriginal.

The media will ignore House hearings no matter what crimes are uncovered, but there will be laser-like focus on Senate hearings dealing with Jared Kushner/Ivanka Trump. It will be ‘must see TV’.
