I wonder if the woman had ever handled a firearm prior to this? Her adrenaline had to be going crazy.
Also, she is lucky the gun actually fired. Criminals are not known for keeping their firearms clean and in top working order and often have the incorrect ammo in the magazine. She also ran the risk of there being no rounds at all in the gun, or it being on safety.
So anyway, God was on her side that day and she showed courage and fought back. If they have no experience with them, every woman (everyone actually) should find someone who is experienced with firearms and learn from them the safety rules and operation of a few basic types of guns.
