If she doesn’t caucus with the dems, that puts the GOP at a 50-49 advantage through the lame-duck session.

She has said she will not caucus with republicans, so NOTHING CHANGES.

This is all for show.

She knows that since Kari Lake is a fighter and is willing to take her stolen election suit all the way to SCOTUS, there is a real chance the cheating in AZ is going to be exposed, and she wants to get out in front of it. After all, Sinema was losing to McSally on Election Day, and it was ballot harvesting that put her over the line after a couple days of "counting" in Mariacopa.

Joe Manchin should have the courage to do the samething.

Sinema would only have REAL courage if she announced she would caucus with Republicans. By still caucusing with Democrats, NOTHING CHANGES.

Manchin will do what is best for Manchin.

You would think that the Turtle would be blowing up Manchin's phone and making all kinds of deals in order to entice him to switch parties. Who wants to bet the Turtle has done nothing?

This will make the ‘24 Senate race very interesting. If the Democrats do not put up a candidate against her, the the GOP needs to find a shill to run as a Democrat. Split the vote and we get a Republican. Senator Lake??? Senator Kirk?

If a couple more joined her, they could control the whole Senate agenda for years.

That’s what pisses me off about the whole Trump “muh fraud” debacle. He had a chance to get a viable third party off the ground and force something of a parliamentary system on the legislature. But Rudy or whoever had his ear convinced him he was robbed. The opportunity that was squandered will never come again.

Bernie is an “independent” as well. If she caucuses with the Dems she is still a Dem.

Nothing changes. She did this so Ruben Gallego couldn’t primary her in 2024.

Our system is not a parliamentary system!
What you’re asking just plain wouldn’t work without significant Constitutional changes. A parliamentary system would have meant a Pelosi or Schumer premiership do you really want that?

Look how well a parliamentary is working now for the UK, Canada & the rest of Europe!

*************

Its not courage. Its a self-serving move related to concerns over being primaried.

She’s bisexual - so why not caucus with both parties?

“So they’ll have to keep carting out Kamala and putting up with her...eccentricities.”

No need for Harris with RINOs like Collins and Murkowski.

The Democrats are an elite coastal party that holds the average West Virginian in utter contempt.

**************

True that, but West Virginians are easily misled and will keep Manchin in office regardless of what he does or doesn’t do.

Supposedly she will caucus with the RATS to maintain her committee assignments.

Its not courage. Its a self-serving move related to concerns over being primaried.

That's possibly her main motivation, but there is no way this is something schmuck Schumer wants, nor Biden's handlers. This might end up being a very light blow to their power, or it may not. Either way, it is at least a dent. I'll certainly take this news over a Republican announcing they're going Independent right now.

I think Manchin is a big act. He needs to do that to get the WV vote. Where was his outrage when Schumer scr#wed him?
