At about 4 p.m. on Sunday, November 20, 2022, an enraged, estranged husband (38-year-old Kenneth Krainski) attacked a man who was romantically involved with his estranged wife. According to the police, the situation was a domestic dispute, where the estranged husband went to the defender’s apartment, in Dublin, California, in the 7100 block of San Ramon Road. From SFChronicle.com:
Krainski — described by police as an “estranged husband” — got into an altercation with his wife at the apartment complex and was shot by a second man, according to the initial release.
The woman and the second man were involved in a romantic relationship and inside the apartment when Krainski went to the residence unannounced, Dublin police told KRON TV. The second man — who legally owned a gun — reportedly had not met Krainski before the incident.
None of the reporting on the incident indicates Krainski broke into the apartment. It is inferred one of the couple at the apartment answered the door and let Krainski inside, although that is not mentioned. The man who shot Krainski says he was being hit with a baseball bat when he was able to access his shotgun and shoot the enraged, estranged, husband. From mercurynews.com:
The man was in a relationship with a woman who was also at the apartment, when Krainski, the woman’s estranged husband, showed up unannounced, police said. The two men did not know each other, police said.
Police still have not said how Krainski knew the woman was at the apartment.
Krainski had a baseball bat with him and began hitting the man who lives at the apartment, police said.
The man, fearing for his life, was able to get a shotgun and shoot Krainski, police said. Krainski died

“Estranged”. LOL! She was cheating on her husband.
That should be a great relationship. A cheating woman with the guy that killed her husband. Ahhhhh, love!
Sounds like this could be a HallMark schlock movie
All the time the cheating wife was probably my cheering it on. She comes out of this smelling like a rose, she got rid of the husband she didn’t want, doesn’t have to bother going through a divorce, and inherits all his property. Now the lover will likely move into the dead husbands house and live large on the dead guy’s money. Truly evil.

Don’t forget she cashes in on husband’s life insurance.
Sorry, no.
No lesbians involved.
Likely a clause concerning “death while committing a felony”.
All of my policies have it.
“...an enraged, estranged husband...attacked a man who was romantically involved with his estranged wife.”
I have an ancestor from Texas who, just prior to 1900, shot and killed a man who was having an affair with his wife. Literally confronted him at his job and gunned him down in cold blood.
He was tried for murder. The defense argued he was justified in his actions. He was found not guilty.
It’s possible the wife never told the new guy she was still married.
If your spouse is cheating, file for divorce. Don’t physically attack someone.

The father of an old girl friend, in 1953, took a shotgun, went to where he was told by the wife’s brother the rendezvous was taking place and when, waited inside the house and blew away the lover as he was walking up the steps. At trial in Ocala, Florida, he was found not guilty of any/all charges. Went on to become a church deacon. Oh yeh, the couple never divorced and were still together when he passed away at age 82.
The Perfect Crime!
The story doesn't say he died; only that he was shot.
Wait for the facts.
It's also possible that they were separated for some time due to his violent nature.
He could have been the one to cause the estrangement through infidelity, not having foreseen that she would be relieved and not want him back.
It could also be that he was supposed to be taking care of their kids according to a custody agreement, and she was trying to be discreet, but he put a tracker on her car.
OK; I just read the full article. The husband did die. If he was a violent abuser, I hope she does cash in. If not, and she was actually cheating and not formally separated and there are no children, I hope his family rakes her over in court.
It’s also possible he could have left her nothing but debts. Happened to a woman acquaintance of mine. Her cheating husband died of a heart attack because his mistress’s husband died unexpectedly. The mistress lived right next door to him and his wife. He keeled over the next day rather than face the consequences.
Much depends on how estranged the estranged husband was. If they has separated and in the process of getting a divorced, then I have little sympathy for him.
