I was thinking LEOs would be chasing the wrong people because the drag show people got all that press claiming that it had to be all about them, which is incredibly annoying, I don’t mind telling you.
They may well be chasing the wrong people altogether if they are convinced it’s domestic terrorists, though the Pacific NorthWest is their home base, and North Carolina is notable for being a Koch brothers experimental lab for their brand of political Libertarianism, so it’s much hated by the Left.
It’s one of those immigrant terrorists that Slo Joe was so thoughtful to send us.

If they really wanted to prevent, deter and find the culprits, they could. They just don’t want to. Think about it for a moment, with all the avaliable COTS systems (commercial off-the-shelf) on the market, hardly any are integrated at our critical infrastructure locations... why is the question to ask. There are shot locators, high resolution NV/thermal camera systems w/visual and audio analytics, automated multi-drone launch systems for visual assessment, recon or possible retaliatory responses. Integrate those capabilities into an inexpensive (to some degree), complete protection package and distribute/install.

There are usually copycat incidents after something like the North Carolina outages get lots of attention in the news.
Around here the occasional tree or branch falling causes the power outages. Happens a couple times a month. Folks are more likely to shoot someone messing around a substation.

I live in Washington and this is the first I heard about this. I have worked for various cities and counties across the state and read the online newspapers daily to keep up on those areas and folks I came to know.
