...Its stock has slumped nearly 83% in the past year. Sales, which the company had expected to rise as much as 33% this year, are now likely to show only minor growth....
In late October, the company said it was laying off 200 people, or 19% of its workforce. And four top executives have departed in recent months, including the chief financial officer, the chief supply chain officer and the chief operating officer, whom Beyond Meat had suspended after his arrest on allegations that he bit another man’s nose in a parking garage altercation.
What investors and others are debating now is whether Beyond Meat’s struggles are specific to the company or a harbinger of deeper issues in the plant-based meat industry.
...
“At the category level, we’re seeing volumes for plant-based meats down 22 consecutive months now,” said John Baumgartner, a consumer food analyst at the financial institution Mizuho Americas....“We’re positive on the future for plant-based meat, but this is a 20- to 25-year story,” he said....
Some say the slowdown in sales is a product of food inflation, as consumers trade pricier plant-based meat for less-expensive animal meat. But others wonder if the companies have simply reached the maximum number of consumers willing to try or repeatedly purchase faux burgers and sausages.
...
...the Deloitte analysts said another problem might be resistance to a product that some segment of customers see as “woke” and linked to politically left-leaning ideas.
In August, when the Cracker Barrel restaurant chain stated on its Facebook page that it had begun offering the meatless “Impossible Sausage,” the post was flooded with thousands of comments from irate customers. “Go woke, go broke,” one wrote. “You just lost a ton of your base. You obviously don’t know your patrons.”

Great news.
“The industry over estimated the number of vegans, or wishful guesstimation of the numbers of meat eaters they could convert to (sic) cloven hoof eating patterns.”
The media blows everything out of proportion. If I believed everything the media said about demographics and vegans and other such nonsense... there would be vegan gay people living all over my neighborhood, but in reality those numbers only exist in leftist dystopic hallucinations.
“...and the chief operating officer, whom Beyond Meat had suspended after his arrest on allegations that he bit another man’s nose in a parking garage altercation.”
Sounds like a meat craving to me...
It’s as ironic as gays who hate men/ women, and then go and try to act like the very thing they hate. Women who hate men try to act like guys and gay men act effeminate.
Go figure.
“Beyond Carnevora”
If you ever read the ingredients of a chocolate bar.. it would be Beyond Carnauba.
The demoncraps will mandate it shortly as a percentage of required consumption.
True words.
“Wait till they shove bug meat and bugs in general onto the market like ‘beyond meat’....yeah, maybe that will catch on too.”
By definition bugs are not vegan. So the vegans won’t be eating bugs either.
I know vegans, and they spend a lot of time prepping meals. I also tried the Beyond Meat™️ burger at Burger King™️ and it was really no big deal. They slather so many other things on the burger you can’t really even taste the “textured vegetable protein” contained therein, but the texture definitely has that ersatz quality.
The stuff actually tastes OK, but it’s full of carbohydrates and is pretty expensive.
>All I know is, when the meat department of my grocery store was bare for parts of March and April 2022, the meatless meat bin was fully stocked. People would rather starve than eat that junk.
On the first serious day of the Covid crisis, so what? Late March or early April of 2020? I went to Costco at opening time along with hundreds of my best friends. After filling a cart there, I went to Kroger in the early afternoon to pick up a few things.
The store was very picked over, bread, milk, cheese, meat pretty much all gone. But there was this one end coffin cooler of all the fake meat products that was FULL! I wish I had taken a picture.
Even when threatened with pandemic death if you go in public to shop, people won’t buy that over-processed crap.
See my previous.
Ditto...my winter crop of broccoli is just about ready, and we are looking forward to soups and stir-frys. ..especially the stir-fry with tri-tip...yum! :-)
When it comes to meat...”from my cold dead hands...”
Beyond profitability
It keeps ending up in the local bargain grocery store.
(Its stock has slumped nearly 83% in the past year)
Their product is failing miserably.
I never wanted to even try it.
(The sooner they tank, the better.)
Absolutely
Steamed broccoli 🥦 and butter
Yay
