RNC chief on criticism of early voting: ‘We need to stop that’

Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel on Tuesday urged members of her party to stop discouraging early voting and vote by mail.

“Our voters need to vote early,” McDaniel told Fox News. “I have said this over and over again. There were many in 2020 saying, ‘Don’t vote by mail, don’t vote early.’ And we have to stop that and understand that if Democrats are getting ballots in for a month, we can’t expect to get it all done in one day.”

Former President Trump was among the leading voices that questioned the security and validity of early and mail voting in 2020, baselessly claiming they allowed for fraud and rigged the election against him.

An RNC spokesperson later sought to clarify that the chairwoman was not speaking about the former president in her comments to Fox News.

Trump chose to vote by mail rather than in person even though his motorcade repeatedly drove right by an early voting site at a Palm Beach County library around the date of the March 2020 election, CNN reported.

For the general presidential election, Trump voted early in person at the Palm Beach County Main Library, Saturday, Oct. 24, 2020, in West Palm Beach, Florida.

That applies to Congress choosing Electors who in turn choose the President. Article 1, Section 4 addresses elections:

"Article I, Section 4:

Section 4 - Elections, Meetings

The Times, Places and Manner of holding Elections for Senators and Representatives, shall be prescribed in each State by the Legislature thereof; but the Congress may at any time by Law make or alter such Regulations, except as to the Place of Chusing Senators."

Back in the 1700's/1800's most states opened voting for several days, for the simple fact it could take several days for rural farmers to travel to the polls.

Prior to 1826, only property owners could vote. You had to show your latest receipt for paid property taxes to the county clerk before you were allowed to vote. It was known as Stakeholder Franchise.

Prior to the Progressive Era, you didn't have a secret ballot. You proudly stated your choices for office to the county clerk who maintained a tally sheet. Supporters of the men you voted for would take you aside for a drink of wine, beer or a concoction known as "punch." Today we would serve such a drink with a paper umbrella, and the sugar disguised the alcohol in the drink. It packed quite a wallop.

And back then polling places were the sites of wild parties with drinking and singing.

In a battle when soldiers finds themselves without an effective weapon they must be willing to reach down and pick up a dead enemy’s weapon in order to survive. We must become even more effective with our enemy’s methods, regardless of any self righteous conflicts we might have about whether its a right thing to do. They are not going to stop! When fighting an enemy that has no sense of right and wrong and who will do absolutely anything without any hint of moral conflict then you must become just as dirty as they are, or else you will most certainly die. For decades republicans have repeatedly said that is just not something republicans do because we must remain morally upright. Well we now know where that got us. From now on they need to stop “reaching across the isle to my good friends on the left”. We should instead be ready to take a bite out of any lefty who comes within range.

getting ballots in for a month

Thats the key...ballots, not necessarily votes.

Stop THAT and you stop a lot of the fraud.

It's called "Election Day" for a reason - not "Election Month +Three Weeks". The Constitution even specifies it's placement on the calendar.

The only ones who should vote early or by mail are those required to be out of the country because they permanently work or reside overseas. Even then, their ballots should be specifically requested and properly notarized before final mailing. Everybody else should vote in their local precinct and all the ballots counted and results forwarded to the County before the precinct closes.

Heck - even make "Election Day" a national holiday every two years so there is no excuse.

If you feel important information is looming, then wait to vote. People, who cared at all, knew about the laptop. They believed the government that it was Russian disinformation. No, it wouldn’t change my vote. Besides, that’s what the electoral college is for. Just in case.

The reality is that the government controls the media, the news, the investigations, the propaganda, the money, the benefits, and who wins and who looses now even in business. You can’t vote yourself out of the system of government we have now, it’s not a democracy or a republic.
