Pence pushes back on Trump’s call to terminate the Constitution

Former Vice President Mike Pence on Monday pushed back on former President Trump’s assertion that the Constitution should be disregarded to allow for him to return to the White House in the wake of new revelations about Twitter’s handling of a controversial story about Hunter Biden.

“I must tell you that I think that everyone that serves in public office, everyone that aspires to serve or serve again should make it clear that we will support and defend the Constitution of the United States,” Pence said on WVOC radio in Columbia, S.C., ahead of a visit to the state on Tuesday.

The former vice president, who has said he is contemplating a 2024 presidential bid, noted that every federal official takes an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution.

Pence added that he believes he upheld his oath to defend the Constitution throughout his four years as Trump’s vice president, particularly in the final weeks of his term as Trump pressured him to reject the 2020 election results.

US V Throckmorton lays it out.

No one has the guts to make it stick.

So, here we sit and do NOTHING.

Yep, he just now clarified on TS. Here we go:

“The Fake News is actually trying to convince the American People that I said I wanted to “terminate” the Constitution. This is simply more DISINFORMATION & LIES, just like RUSSIA, RUSSIA, RUSSIA, and all of their other HOAXES & SCAMS. What I said was that when there is “MASSIVE & WIDESPREAD FRAUD & DECEPTION,” as has been irrefutably proven in the 2020 Presidential Election, steps must be immediately taken to RIGHT THE WRONG. Only FOOLS would disagree with that and accept STOLEN ELECTIONS. MAGA!” [Dec 05, 2022, 12:43 PM]

“SIMPLY PUT, IF AN ELECTION IS IRREFUTABLY FRAUDULENT, IT SHOULD GO TO THE RIGHTFUL WINNER OR, AT A MINIMUM, BE REDONE. WHERE OPEN AND BLATANT FRAUD IS INVOLVED, THERE SHOULD BE NO TIME LIMIT FOR CHANGE!” [Dec 05, 2022, 1:06 PM]

“WE WANT PEOPLE WHO “LEGITIMATELY” WON THE ELECTION TO LEAD OUR COUNTRY, NOT PEOPLE WHO HAD TO CHEAT IN ORDER TO WIN!!!” [Dec 05, 2022, 1:51 PM]

Sounds like he really was saying he should be installed as president in that original TS post. And as there is no means to do so under the Constitution ...

I assume when he said "installed", that he meant legally through the courts.

The Democrats and their thugs in the FBI and DOJ piss on the Constitution every minute of every day, and we’re supposed to get all atwitter at some idiotic comment about Trump from his former VP who obviously wants to suck up to the deep state. Can’t say I’m too concerned about what Pence says or his replacement says either (if she can ever get out a coherent sentence).

The trouble is,is there is no Constitutional path to do that through the courts. And no path to holding a “redo” of a presidential election, either, which Trump says is his second choice. The Electors voted, the votes were duly counted and recorded. End of story, according to the Constitution (which makes no mention of a popular presidential election).

Pence knows Trump did no such thing. He’s worse than Joe and Mika.

What’s his problem, turning on the person who gave him the highest position he’s ever had (or ever WILL have) in his life?

Either the blackmail content or the financial payoff is monumentally YUGE. Or both.

He could be. But, he'll need to do a better job of specifically proving how the "ELECTION IS IRREFUTABLY FRAUDULENT" to quote him, in my opinion. There may have been 2,000 mules in one state, etc, but none of that evidence from a nationwide perspective has ever been adequately gathered, sorted, validated, and presented coherently that I've seen.

There were a couple of projects that got started, on his behalf, back in early 2021, to gather and track that type of information. You can see in my posting history where I was trying to track them. I believe I even created at least one vanity post asking where that type of information was being gathered, which unfortunately resulted in not much being known.

Maybe those projects were hoping that Trump would fund them, but they withered away when he mostly disappeared from sight that year. Not much has changed since then, with regard to a database of what illegal activity supposedly happened, and where, and supposedly by whom.

Without that type of evidentiary information, accusations are cheap, some would say. Did he ever even pursue anything in court after he left office? Some said that would have been the right time. Seems like after Rudy struck out they called it a day legally on went on a PR campaign.

If you prove fraud in a court of law, then you no longer have somebody who was chosen to be president using a constitutional path.

You have an installed president with an incomplete constitutional process, and an existing constitutional process that would need to be completed.

I have no expectations that will happen though.

You’ve already totally failed in that regard, clown. You let America down.

None here should forget— Pence knew clearly in advance the Motions made against State Electors “decisions”, motions made by legislators FROM the States they moved against. As the Constitution provides (w/out regards to the procedures outlined in the Electoral Act of 1888.) Pence ignored the Constitutional duty outlined for the VP to do. 141 Members of Congress (House and Senate) filed motions, which he gaveled down as they began them.

Nancy Pelosi provided the “emergency” of the fake-a@@ “insurrectionists” she hired and bused in dressed as Trump people (but on her payroll! Actors, and so identified on that day) who “threatened” the parliamentary procedure.

Finally- and this is video documented FACT— Mike Pence gaveled down on acceptance of the Electors decisions, and then.... BUMPED ELBOWS with that harridan lying wet brain demented HAG Nancy Pelosi! HE should explain WHY he did that instead of his Constitutional duty. He never intended to do his Constitutional Duty. Pansy Pence and his boyfriends— all of whom his mousie wifey tries to deflect through “religion”. A joke all the way back to when Pence was Governor. And who has the files— why it was “acting” AG Rod Rosenstein who now “practices” law in Atlanta with Chris Wray’s old firm King & Spaulding (where Wray was paid 9.2 Mill $ before Christie recommended him to Trump to replace Comey at FBI). Round and round the carousel goes— everybody eating at OUR trough.

So watcha gonna do about it? There’s remedy under the Constitution.

There’s always a new Declaration, but who is going to “take up arms?” as Jefferson said? The Founding Fathers knew they had to muster up an army “and hang together or they would surely hang apart”. For sedition.

I don’t see any army of angry citizens forming. Not even a mob with pitchforks.

So whatcha gonna do?

Note: I am in no way suggesting anyone take up arms! Far from it!

Evidence was gathered. The courts never allowed the evidence to be heard.

The subject of the involvement of the National government in the choice and quadrennial replacement of the President was discussed, extensively, at the Philadelphia Convention.

Congress was given the power to regulate elections of Senators and Representatives, but was not granted ANY authority over the power of the State Legislatures, which were tasked with choosing the President through the means of appointing Electors.

With the single exception of Amendment XXIII, when Congress awarded itself 3 electoral votes, this system has stood the test of time.

The Constitution makes no reference to “announcing”, primaries, conventions, nominees, “running”, or voting by individuals. The Constitution makes no reference to news agencies “calling” States. The only people the Constitution confers a “right to vote for President” on are the 535 Electors appointed by State Legislatures, or the 3 appointed by Congress since 1964.

No State Legislature objected to the appointment of Electors under its power. The Legislatures of Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan, Georgia, and Arizona did not even CONVENE to discuss the question.

How those Legislatures planned to appoint their Electors is irrelevant. Who voted, who didn’t, how many people voted, how the votes were counted, when Arizona was “called”, who besides the appointed Electors claimed to be the rightful Electors HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE US CONSTITUTION.

There was only one election that mattered under the Constitution, it took place on December 14, 2000, and Joe Biden and Kamala Harris won it 306-232.

Again, the Constitution makes no mention of individual citizens voting in a popular election for president. The votes were duly cast by Electors, counted, and recorded.

Remember when Trump wanted some state legislatures to appoint Electors that would vote for him rather than according to the popular vote count?

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-election-trump-strategy/trumps-election-power-play-persuade-republican-legislators-to-do-what-u-s-voters-did-not-idUSKBN27Z30G

https://www.wsj.com/articles/trump-campaign-wants-states-to-override-electoral-votes-for-biden-is-that-possible-11605973695

He did not succeed in this. The votes were cast by the Electors, counted, recorded, and Biden was inaugurated. Too late now. No court is going to entertain this, nor should it.
