France has been given the green light to ban short haul domestic flights.

The European Commission has approved the move which will abolish flights between cities that are linked by a train journey of less than 2.5 hours.

The decision was announced on Friday. The changes are part of the country’s 2021 Climate Law.

France is also cracking down on the use of private jets for short journeys in a bid to make transport greener and fairer for the population.

Transport minister Clément Beaune said the country could no longer tolerate the super rich using private planes while the public are making cutbacks to deal with the energy crisis and climate change.

In the future, only “elites” will have private cars or be able to travel freely.

Not a big deal if you were only going between two nearby cities, but a total pain in the butt if you would have simply changed planes, but now have to go ‘downtown’ to get to your destination.

Somehow, I suspect that people who are members of the WEF will be exempted from this crackdown.

Forcing the public to pay for a non-sustainable means of travel.

Probably engineered (Get it? Engineered?) by James Taggart of Taggart Transcontinental.

That is, once he was done filming Better Call Saul.

Climate change, like Covid, is a “license” the Lefties in the world seek for the sold purpose of “CONTROL”.

Which is worse.... “lefties acquiring CONTROL and locking you up in your house for whatever reason they deem important OR a wealthy person riding in an airplane. Jeez! Wake up people!!!!

So, people will just fly from France to Germany and back to another city in France. In the long run it will waste a lot more energy.

What a bunch of asswads.
The Marxist Muslim coalition blindly attacks western Christian man, in particular America, for all the ills and wrongs of mankind. They aren’t smart enough to to understand that we have made many, many solutions in the past. We made inventions out of needs.

Carbon and global warming are no different, and that’s assuming they are real.
Me? I believe in the carbon cycle. I believe in climate change. Solar activity has been affecting the earth since the beginning of time.

This other is just hoey with one global intent: erasure of the descendents of western Christian man, you, me, and the Trump team.

This is only a beginning.

“”The endgame is restricting or eliminating personal transportation.””

Truer words were never spoken.

The democRATS loved USSR Internal Passport Model, and cannot wait to institute it here. In Soviet times, one needed ‘papers’ to travel outside your small county area, bus, train, etc.

The dirty little secret, they did not issue ‘papers’ to most people. If you tried to travel outside your little area without papers, off to the gulag for you (and sometimes all your family and friends, just to maintain the terror). If you had papers, and then said something against communism, papers canceled, no more transportation.

They will combine this with your own, personal Carbon Footprint Quotient. All of your power usage, home, work, all of it) will be monitored by Big Brother. Usage of unreliable Wind & Solar will be looked at as ‘correct’ energy. Almost all other energy sources (oil, natural gas, nuke) will be frowned upon, and count double towards your daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, and lifetime carbon total. Each day, upon reaching your limit, you will be allowed to access enough to get you home for the day, but only on approved public transportation. If you are lucky enough to have an EV (no other cars allowed) and you reach your carbon limit for the day, you will be forced to use public transport home. You will be allowed, in only the most special and urgent situations (pre-approval necessary) to borrow from your lifetime carbon total. When you reach your lifetime carbon total, if you have been a good little comrade and not said, written, or thought anything against the powers that be, you might be allowed to reside in the state-approved, zero-carbon homes where you must grow your own food. Anyone who cannot go out into the field to grow and harvest...well...your time on the Earth is up. Ezekiel Emmanuel let us already know by stating ‘75 years is plenty of time for anyone to live.’ He was discussing Obamacare and the major cost to keep the elderly alive.

They have their own private heliport near Geneva. It’s on Google Earth.

This was at the bottom of the article.
As part of President Macron’s plea for “collective sobriety” in energy use, French citizens are also being encouraged to trade in their cars for electric bikes.

A maximum of €4,000 is available to low-income households in low-emission zones to subsidize the switch, with smaller amounts to help wealthier citizens.

Last week’s extension to Le Plan Vélo — which launched last year — is intended to help the French catch up with the bike-loving Dutch, Germans and Danes.

The aim is to get 9 percent of the country on two wheels by 2024, compared to the current proportion of 3 percent (the Netherlands boasts 27 percent cyclists).

France isn’t the only country getting things right in this regard, of course. The bike subsidy scheme is based on the hugely successful rollout of e-bikes, scooters and mopeds in Lithuania, where, since 2020, people have been given up to €1,000 for handing in their old vehicle. This can even go towards public transportation credits. …
Yeah; emulate Lithuania. Real smart move, Macron. Turn France into Red China in the 1990s, where the streets are crowded with bikes.

Trains are efficient in Europe, and you don’t need to get there 2 hours prior to boarding.
