I went thru Detroit airport's "parallel reality" and it was pretty cool. But that's more of a less obtrusive object scanner and not facial recognition.

Detroit Airport unveils parallel reality

Is this part of the new Voter ID system?

Just in case of power outages, they will have all information backed up, and it will find its way to some bunker in Kansas... and remain forever... and always available to the “proper” authorities.

Haven’t been on a plane since 9/11..

The creation of the TSA cemented it

This added a new layer of cement over the top.

Drive or I am not going.

It should be enough that the TSA worker compares your photo ID with your actual appearance. They do not need to use “facial recognition” technology with the attendant issues of the storing of facial recognition data.

What is someone who has had cosmetic plastic surgery supposed to do? Immediately get a new Driver’s License and new Passport??? And if they don’t before they travel through a TSA check point? Submit to a “security detainment?

I want to know from the government just how many possible terrorists have been stopped at USA TSA check points??

The TSA says it doesn’t use facial recognition for law-enforcement purposes. It also says it minimizes holding on to our face data, so it isn’t using the scans to build out a new national database of face IDs.

“The scanning and match is made and immediately overwritten at the Travel Document Checker podium. We keep neither the live photo nor the photo of the ID,” said Lim. But the TSA did acknowledge there are cases in which it holds on to the data for up to 24 months so its science and technology office can evaluate the system’s effectiveness.

Never believe something until the government officially denies it.

The heck they are not keeping records.

This is NOT to confirm your ID.

Your ID is already darn good, with your passport, or ‘real ID’.

This is to get a hi-def facial recognition image of you for their data base.

Every pore, every whisker, and up to date. And updated every trip you make.

Fortunately I have a right to never even go to an airport.

Which I have done only once since (soon after) the formation of the TSA Gestapo... and after that first time, I swore never to even go onto commercial airport property, much less into the buildings.

Sigh...

The terminal is FULL of cameras now!

Why do they need another one at the checkin place?

I would love to see voting be in person only and facial ID used.

No more ID is racist, and if someone is not a citizen, proof of the crime is right there. AND, best of all, we run a warrant check and have a paddy wagon right on site...
