A reparations committee in California has suggested that descendants of slaves in the state should be compensated $223,200 each for 'housing discrimination'.

The nine-member Reparations Task Force was formed by California Governor Gavin Newsom as part of the country's largest ever effort to address reparations for slavery.

A focus of the California task force has been 'housing discrimination' - it has estimated the 2.5 million Black Californians require compensation of around $569billion, according to the New York Times.

You’d have made more by investing in mutual funds and buying a life insurance policy. I hate annuities. They cap your earnings in a year. For example, if the stock market is up 20 or more percent in one year, you would only get, say, 8%.

But, good on you for being a saver with a plan.

I believe that every living person who was a slave in California before 1865 deserves $1 billion dollars. They just need to apply for it in person.

Yep Newsom is tossing out the big baited hook before he makes a run for president.
His next offer will be a free pass on the gravy train for life.

It appears that student loan gravy (currently ruled illegal by the courts) worked well in the 2022 elections.

That was poll-tested by Dem consultants to determine the amount that would pull net positive votes for Dems.

"That would be unconstitutional, as it would be the government of one state taxing inhabitants of another state."

You don't really think that money going to CA (with it's plethora of non-Citizen inhabitants include in Congressionalj justification numbers in the Census) doesn't get a BIG piece of the pie, to spend however they see fit (like the Covid Relief Scam), and it's money collected across the USA from Taxpayers, that winds up in CA's coffers to buy votes?

EITC comes to mind, too, where the non-citizens cash in on their 22 kids, 15 dependent elderly relatives, etc.

Gimme a break.

It better be really nice.

“The total amount of identified federal and state funding for the capital program is currently estimated in the range of $20.6 billion to $23.0 billion, with a medium forecast of $21.8 billion through 2030. The range is based on a dynamic Cap-and-Trade market that best matches historical performance of the auctions.”

LOL!!! Since democrats are unrivaled at being creative cheaters and we know that dead democrats vote all the time, I'd be surprised if they couldn't figure out a way for dead slaves to collect. LOL!!

With a Republican Congress, they can’t appropriate money for this hairbrained scheme, and courts cannot order Congress to spend.
