The Biden administration will pay $75 in relocation costs to three Native American tribes whose homes are threatened by climate change, the Interior Department announced Wednesday.
The Interior Department will provide $25 million each to Washington State’s Quinault Indian Nation and Alaska’s Newtok Village and Native Village of Napakiak. The Alaska communities are the site of severe erosion, which is projected to destroy critical infrastructure in Napakiak by 2030 and within the next four years in Newtok.
Napakiak currently loses between 25-50 feet a year to erosion, according to DOI projections.
The Quinault Indian Nation is located where the Quinault River meets the Pacific Ocean, putting it at ground zero for storm surges, flooding and rising sea levels, as well as potential tsunamis caused by earthquakes on the Pacific Rim.
The funds for the voluntary program will be provided through the Bipartisan infrastructure Law and Inflation Reduction Act. The administration will also provide $5 million grants to eight other tribal communities, including four in Alaska, one in Arizona, one in California, one in Louisiana and one in Maine.

Okay, so which Democrat crony has dibs on the soon-to-be vacated land?
“Napakiak currently loses between 25-50 feet a year to erosion” — and NEVER lost so much as an inch before the evil White Patriarchy and Violent Extremists invented the Infernal Combustion Engine.
You can bet your sweet azz that there’s “10% for the Big Guy” in that deal.
A. BS
B It isn’t caused by global warming.
.
And he’s building them a San Fran Toilet - to share the Values of San Francisco.
It’s all somebody else’s money! Woooohooo!
Better than $75 billion to a non ally in Ukraine.
Will this get them to stop hunting grey whales?
Villages situated on alluvial soil at the mouth of rivers. Basically sand banks which shift and wash away over time. Probably settled there by the government to begin with. Natives would have had better sense.
And corruption rolls on and on...
“ Better than $75 billion to a non ally in Ukraine.”

For sure. This money stays in the USA and is for Americans.
I feel like a chump for following rules and being, somewhat, moral.
I’m certain there is someway for me to hustle a bunch of money from our government by some BS mechanism.
I care a little less about principles every year I watch reality occur.
Pretty good scam since there isn’t in climate change impact
Here is the statistic:
Today, there are over five million Native Americans in the US.Highest percentage in Alaska, New Mexico, South Dakota, Montana, and North Dakota. 4.1% of Americans are gay or bisexual. That’s NOT a lot. 96% are not.
I say jettison them (and the gays) by political strategy.
Tell people those millions are wasted money.
There are far more people who would be upset by wasting money on them (and allowing homosexual AIDS HIV tainted blood in our blood supply).
Losing the native American votes and the gay votes by gaining tens of millions other votes by deliberate strategy is a good idea.
Call us names, but we’ll win.
Dems add up groups (blacks, gays, unions, tech nerds, suburban women). We can jettison the phony lack of bias and appeal to the millions. People don’t like gays around their little children at school and they do not like HIV tainted
blood in the blood banks. Fight this , be called prejudiced, but win millions of votes.
Speaking from experience, if you want native American tribes’ attention, just show them the money
Every Tribe should relocate to Martha’s Vineyard
Isn’t it fantastic having a printed, totally fiat monetary system, where US Gov’t debt can be monetized at will?
Have fun while it lasts.
What, none of these “tribes” already have a shell company IT gov’t contract set-aside deal that they are getting enough $$$ out of?
Biden admin has no money in US Treasury which is essentially bankrupt with $31 Trillion debt and growing. Biden will borrow money and burden young Americans with the additional debt.
