Medvedev: NATO could become legitimate target over Ukraine aid

Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev warned on Tuesday that NATO states could become a "legitimate target" in case they supply Ukraine with Patriot anti-air missile systems and send NATO personnel to the country.

"If, as Stoltenberg’s hinted, NATO supplies the Kiev fanatics with Patriot defense systems – as well as the alliance’s personnel – they will immediately turn into legitimate targets for our armed forces," Medvedev threatened in a tweet. The Russian official accused the alliance of violating other countries' sovereignty by starting coups around the world and murdering "tens of thousands of civilians."

Earlier, NATO Secretary General welcomed Germany's offer to provide Poland with Patriot defense systems after an explosion on its territory and noted that it was up to Berlin to decide if it wants to grant Warsaw's wishes and send Patriot systems to Ukraine instead.

Mr. Honeyeater should know that Russia can’t handle Ukraine. Expanding the war to NATO is a sure loser for Russia.

If our troops are in theatre, supplying, trying, guiding, whatever Ukraine government and solders, it is hard to argue that they are not legit targets, just like we’d target or likely not go out of our way to avoid Russians if roles were reversed. Now, would we or they say it is okay to attack a Ukrainian plane or ship when it is in another country, maybe on a NATO or US base? What about a US cargo plane landing in Ukraine. It is messy, yes.

Surely you're aware that Russia has put the hurt on NAFO weapons and ammunition inventories?

Isn’t NATO just another faction of the UN?

Mr. Honeyeater

I suppose this has some meaning to Zelenskyites, but I'll need help.

What it did was to encourage the former Warsaw Pact states in NATO to transfer weapons to Ukraine in exchange for the promise of more modern weapons systems from the West. Those HIMARS systems have become very popular from this war.

It's the openly gay and very inferior military wing of the liberal world order.

Medvedev is the Russian word for bear, which comes from the Slavic words for "honey eater".

"Expanding the war to NATO is a sure loser for Russia."

~~~~~~~
It is a sure loser for the whole planet, but whoever is running the Biden
"Administration" appears to be after precisely that, for that very reason.
The Russians can't even get air superiority in the Ukraine, which has, err, had, a couple of dozen rusting MiG29s and a few SU27s. Against NATO the only question is how badly its aircraft would be attrited by SAMs before it gained air superiority over the Russians. As which point NATO ground attack aircraft, whose munitions have not been transferred to the Ukraine, would obliterate everything the Russians have west of the Don.
And stop calling me Shirley.
"in exchange for the promise of more modern weapons systems from the West"
Enough said.
Also, my sources say that the HIMARs systems have run out of the type of ammunition needed to deal with current conditions on the front.
Tell that to the Ukrainian energy infrastructure, or what's left of it...
