"I find that very disheartening," he concluded.
Two members of the Mohave County, Ariz., Board of Supervisors on Monday voted to certify the results of the Nov. 8 midterm elections "under duress," claiming he was forced to do so under threat of jail time.
"I vote 'aye' under duress. I found out today that I have no choice but to vote 'Aye' or I will be arrested and charged with a felony," Gould said while casting his vote. "I don't think that that is what the founders had in mind when they used the democratic process to elect our leaders."
"I find that very disheartening," he concluded. Video footage of the vote showed Gould raise his objections. Just the News has sought comment from Gould.

"I found out today that I have no choice but to vote "Aye" or I will be arrested and charged with a felony."
Ron Gould of the Mohave County Board of Supervisors was told he would be arrested if he did not certify the election.
Mohave was certified under duress."
I know laws were broken in Maricopa County. Again, how does not certifying the election of Mohave County votes after Maricopa certified theirs help anything except discount 150K conservative votes?
Equal Protection.
I do not believe Mohave County election was crooked and I was not asked to do anything but certify those votes. One of the reasons we delayed it is because I was under the impression that there were Republican groups doing things in Maricopa to stop their certification and they needed more time. But you know what? The GOP did nothing. They are going to drop lawsuits which they can’t until the election is certified by the Governor.
This POS supervisor is a front hole.
“There job was to certify their county, not hold theirs up due to concerns about another.”
that is the $ 64,000 question, what exactly was the certification, was it in writing and what did it say..all this other talk is chaff UNTIL THE CERTICATION DOCUMENT IS KNOWN
Dictatorship!
The FL recount Bush V Gore. The Fl supreme court in its rush to validate an election, deemed that the WHOLE STATE had to recount and not just one county-equal protection.
Even the Chief Justice of the FL court in his descent stated that because they ruled as such, the SCOTUS will strike it down because if the WHOLE state of FL could recount, that violated the equal protection of all the other states.
All the SCOTUS did in that case was to throw it back at the FLSC and asked them how they intended to explain that.
The FL court dropped the case and the recount stopped. AND in that case, the democrat party attempted to restrict absentee ballots from service members voting from outside the country to boot.
In this case, Maricopa violated state law and invalidated ALL the rest of the counties within the state. Was no need to certify Mohave counties results at that time. Legal action should have been brought immediately.
The founding father WARNED against political factions vehemently. But since we ignore the opinions of the founders these days, then why hole elections at all? Just simply certify anyone who is favored by any particular political faction and call it a day!
Is this our Hildy?
—-Yes.
Except... that's not the way it works. The person on-site IN THAT COUNTY has explained that to you. You don't accept it. Come back with a reasoned legal argument with citations that support your position.
Thank you Hildy. It had to be heartbreaking to deal with this untenable no win situation. It was a brave stand but the scum in Maricopa made the point moot. Next stage is lawsuits. I hope these beasts reap all of the benefits of a “House Divided”.
I did. You need to pay attention.
“Next stage is lawsuits.”
Yup.
Court will say. No standing, or no merits.
Have fun with that.
May I step in as another local from Kingman. I have spoken with you both many times on here. crz is believer in the Checks and balances of government put in place. And he is right, just one county not certifying can pause the election. If Mohave County had not certified and stood strong then there would have been two counties who did not agree.
Now here are the technicalities I see in the debate here. If this had been just positions for Mohave County being certified then Hildy is right to certify for her county, because the results were righteous. But it was not... It included state wide contests, and here is where the checks and balances come into play and where the little guy has some clout.
What would Paul have said? I know Paul and as he has already done in the past, he would have said “bring it on”. At some point if we ever want to beat this monster someone is going to have to just say “bring it on”... If you had Hildy, you would have had so much support you would not have been able to get them all off your front lawn.
Myself included... crz included...
Bugger off.
Explain to me what not certifying MOHAVE county would have done.
Issue was in Maricopa, not Mohave. Maricopa should have not certified.
This isn’t a hill to die on anymore.
Should done it in 2020 when they stole that one.
We had our chance and blew it. We’re at the point where counties and some states need to ignore the tyrants in charge and go about government their way.
Is it possible that refusal to certify would have given the “good guys” time to prove the bad guys had certified corruption in their counties? Drag it out. the bad guys would.
As I have read these threads dealing with electoral corruption rather avidly and intently, as well as the other plethora of scandals pointing directly to government corruption, lawfare, and celebrated/encouraged incompetence, I am forced to conclude we are all at the entrance point to some very dark times.
The pain is real to us, but, at this point, not severe enough to go the ‘Patriot Way’.
That is what will be needed, but not enough reasonable people have been awoken sufficiently to affect the change that is needed.
I believe we’re a minimum of 10 years away from a great awakening, if it happens at all.
Much much pain is to come.
It is us old timers with common sense Op.
And you are correct. One does NOT reward bad behavior with good behavior.
What this election did, if it is left as is, is that in no way will there EVER be election reform passed and signed by Hobbs.
That was my point on political fractions. If we are not going to stand up for citizens rights, then hell, lets just let the political factions appoint who the hell ever they want. Then nobody has to even be concerned about voting, or their bank accounts, or their healthcare, or their property when they confiscate it.
And that is what is coming very soon. You will get a chip in your hand and if you do not have that chip you wont be able to hold a job or buy and sell or hold property. That chip...is already on your debit card.
And I will be called a nut job for saying that. But I caution ALL OF YOU reading this. Consider the digital currency test they are about to do in the very near future. Wells Fargo has signed onto it..for one.
I have thought about this a lot. And I sometimes envy the homeless. They are the ones truly free because they own nothing to be used for extortion against them.
Many of us will soon be in that shape ourselves.
You know..If, and that is an if, I had a chance to talk to Trump I would have told him that it was without a doubt voter fraud in the 20 election BUT, you need to stress the fact that PA violated the equal protection clause of the Constitution by letting its executive branch and Judicial Branch make/change election law and violated the US Constitution per state elections.
Matter of fact, several states violated it.
