Well, there goes the neighborhood.
Mauna Loa erupts in Hawaii<<<
Imagine if Mauna Loa had erupted in say, the Azores...
The damn thing covers something like half of the island. They said lava got within 5 miles of Hilo in an earlier eruption. Hilo is damn far from the cone, but when there is gravity helping you at 13,500 feet...lava can flow quite far.
Ping, but you likely donāt need oneā¦
No evacuations have been requested, but Hawaii County opened shelters, in Kaāu at the Robert Herkes Gymnasium in Pahala, and at the Old Airport Gymnasium (Kailua Park) in Kailua-Kona after reports that residents were self-evacuating from the South Kona coast.
Higher taxes and bigger government can stop this...
Pele is not happy
When people picture Hawaii, they typically don't think of a scene like that below.
I like how the lava is ācontainedā and anything downhill is not at risk.
Good grief, why don’t we have a ‘tax-volcanoes-so-they-don’t-erupt policy yet?
Classically they appeased Pele by throwing in a Hawaiian Princess. But thatās sexist and racist. To correct those past injustices they saw should throw in the highest ranking male Halole available, Obama.
All Trump’s fault./s
Hawaii must be billed with a state surtax for the climate changing gasses emanating from the volcano. Such pollution is a threat to the world and especially the mainland.
“What fresh hell can this be?”

What’s that Jimmy Buffet tune? “When the volcano blows”

Sooooo, what’s this gonna do to the CO2 in the atmosphere? Nine years left to live before we figure out how to cork these anti-Gaia, Pro-Pele volcanoes.
Wasn’t there a story about a week ago about some dude peeing on it and the locals were upset because they said it was disrespectful to their god Pele?
Yeah, it was Mona Kea, but maybe Loa is showing anger for it.
Hasn’t it been constantly erupting for like the last 20 years?
Climate change again?
