While FL is not an open carry state, there is a little known provision in the FL statutes which authorizes open carry on the way to, on the way from, and while fishing or hunting.

There are a couple of guys who poke at the bear when they go fishing on the local ocean pier while open carrying. LOTS of itchy LEO fingers near their leather after Karen calls the manager (LEO) ot complain that she’s “afraid”.

All it will take is for the next Karen to make a false claim and the balloon could go up.

In the state of Georgia this year Governor Brian Kemp signed a bill into law that makes permitless-carry legal. I’m in Atlanta for a week doing my biz and was talking to a Convenience Store/Gas Station owner. He said “we ask for ID and they lift their shirt up and show the gun (motions with his hand lifting his shirt)”. Everyone that shouldn’t have a gun in Georgia has one and its the blacks killing blacks where it manifests most. Today three unrelated CS/Gas places was a gun-related topic going on. One place a niggly bear was mad because he couldn’t get a refund on cigars he didnt like and he had his semi-auto out. I saw this as the workers were playing back the security cam video from earlier that day. Glad I missed the excitement.

I’ve had a CCW for 30 years. In the last few years I’ve stopped carrying routinely because I no longer need to pass through had neighborhoods. If I sense trouble in the air this would change quickly. As it would for most gun owners.
In my area, places that were rural and safe are now getting hit by city "folks" who have discovered our lack of security and low numbers of law enforcement, as well as abundance of nice things. Things are in the air, hence the soaring number of people carrying. I think you missed the handwriting on the wall...

During the BLM/Antifa riots of 2019 I traded my carry weapon, a Glock 36 (45ACP 7+1) for an FN 5.7x28 20+1. Also, my “Truck Gun” was a Ruger .357, now it’s a KelTec PMR 30 (22 Mag 30+1). I can fire 52 rounds without swapping a mag, and I have 122 rounds loaded.

This has been going on for a good while. In NYC in the 40’s many men carried regardless of the Sullivan Act. Vladimir Nobakov’s wife carried a pistol in her purse for their entire marriage. His father was killed in a bungled attempt on the life of Peter Miliuekof and she saw how fast such an event could happen even in ‘civilized’ Europe.
