I have the Citizen app on my phone. Several times a week I see a notice that the police are responding to a call that a man has a gun. Carrying a gun is legal in NC.

I was someone walking beside the road with a pistol in his hand. It looked like he was trained in how to do so safely. I waved and went on.

When the purge law in IL takes effect, I may become a conceal carry. Its going to be every person for themselves

If you carry, don't tell anyone. If anything happens, better to do 6 rather than be carried by 6. As an I.T. manager, I suspected some of my crew carried but never inquired. I questioned some as to why they wanted to go to sites in pairs when only one tech was necessary to do the job. They invited me to come along. At a site, with angry young blacks milling around, my worker said to me "Your job is to watch my back as I get the equipment out of the van into the worksite.". My worker was a young tough black guy who lived in the ghetto. I was in a suit, and quickly understood why one would want to carry protection. After that, I allowed them to go out in pairs without questioning.

I’m one of them. And yes, I carry into Shitcago, violating Metra handgun bans and my employers ban as well. There’s a reason it’s called conceal-carry. If someone sees it, you ain’t doing it right.

I carried a gun for a couple of years in NYC. Of course, they’re only counting the people who do so legally, so I wasn’t part of any statistics.

Considering half the states in the country now have Constitutional Carry, I’d bet the number who carry every day is considerably higher than 6 million. I’m one of them.
