Kevin McCarthy’s War Against MAGA
Chronicles ^ | November 21, 2022 | Anthony Sabatini

Posted on 11/25/2022 9:14:07 AM PST by Dr. Franklin

McConnell’s sabotage of his own side in the Senate races won’t come as a surprise to most Republicans, but many are unaware that House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy used similar tactics in several House races during the same period. McCarthy’s behavior is even worse than McConnell’s in light of the extremely underwhelming House election results. Although observers expected a “red wave” that would yield a strong Republican majority in the House, Republicans are likely to have just a five-vote advantage in the end.

...[t]he political machine around McCarthy directed millions to be spent against Republican candidates in GOP primaries associated with the America First movement. Yes, you read that correctly. McCarthy surrogates, including Amazon lobbyist Jeff Miller, directed four political action committees to attack key candidates to McCarthy’s right in primary elections around the country.

Here are just a few examples: $1.7 million against Freedom Caucus member Madison Cawthorn in NC-11; $2 million in WA-3 against Joe Kent, and $2 million to prop up Kent’s primary opponent; $1.5 million spent against Carl Paladino in NY-23; $1 million against Christian Collins in TX-8; at least $1 million against Karoline Leavitt in NH-1; various amounts against J. R. Majewski in OH-9 and David Giglio in CA-13; and finally, $1.5 million against me in FL-7, a safe Republican seat, where McCarthy surrogates ran false and negative ads through “American Liberty Action PAC,” one of the four McCarthy attack PACs controlled by his surrogates...

...McCarthy’s main focus was not always on defeating Democrats, but to safeguard himself against challenges to his leadership within the GOP from incoming America First candidates. It is hard to escape the conclusion that, had these resources been spent on helping instead of undermining anti-establishment Republican candidates, the GOP would have won a stronger hold over the House.

“As I said,

They wanted the loses. They wanted to pin the loses on Trump. And they wanted you to believe that Trump was responsible for the loses and not them.

And they wanted you to forget about the election fraud in 2020 and likely election fraud in 2022.

And they wanted you to ignore the millions more votes Trump got in 2020, the millions more votes the Republicans in the House got in 2022 and the Uniparty RINO’s in power who sabotaged MAGA..

I’m sorry that you ignore the facts.”

How do I upvote this..lol..Well said.

Trump is the party leader. It doesn't matter if he is in office or out. He was party leader in 2016 before he was elected.

Baloney. How can he be the party leader when he was never a Republican until he saw an opportunity to hijack the party’s nomination process in 2016?

He also the first presidential candidate in my lifetime who campaign AGAINST several key planks in his own party’s official platform.

Well, it's 2 elections as long as we are counting.

And in order for your "long haul" argument to work, the head of the movement has to be picking good candidates in the key races and those campaigns have to execute well, even if they do lose. And when money is raised while campaigning with those candidates, those candidates need to see the lions share of that cash. It can't just get squirreled away in some PAC.

He picked some great candidates and was stuck with others.
Is Trump perfect? No...I haven’t seen a politician that was. He did a damn good job the 4 yrs he was in and I see nobody else even coming close in 2024. Desantis/Lake might be great someday but neither are ready yet for the fight ahead.

“..If MAGA stays together and keeps fighting the RINOs we can continue this trend but the swamp will fight back...”

This is the post I wanted to see. You are correct!! The RINO’s have suffered major losses in the last three elections. It is a war of attrition. And they are getting the boot because of a political movement - MAGA. And the author and leader of the movement is Donald Trump.

Trump gave this nation the best four years in history. In spite of tremendous disadvantages and obstacles thrown at him he kept at it.

There in only one persons among all potential presidential candidates who is a proven, world-class president and that is Donald Trump. He was amazing!!!

Well, Joe you are somewhat right. There are Republicans who do not believe 100% in conservative principles, but do in many or most - no question.

But there are other Republicans who are 100% into conservatism. As an example, I registered Republican at the age of 21 years and am now 90+ years old. And I will match my conservative beliefs with anyone on FR.

Just another thing that proves what I said is right: just leave the danged ballot race blank if you’re in McCarthy’s district. We needed all the seats we could in the House, but in McCarthy’s case, he deserved to be fired. Just vote for every RINO House candidate except the Ultra RINO King. Seeing as we got 220 to 222, we could have afforded to lose McCarthy after all.

... will turn right around and support us if we only abandon Trump. Maybe a new Romney/Ryan ticket will do the trick this time?

Yep. That way, the Dumb-O-Crats can win Florida's electors again.

When the Dumb-O-Crat opponents are almost always commies, you just focus on the RINO leader. For example, when Turtle McTurtleface is up for re-election again, vote for every GOP Senate candidate, RINO or MAGA, on the ballot . . . except for Turtle McTurtleface. Just leave that one blank, and let the Dem voters work for us for a change.

“A Convention easily could result in something much worse than our current one.”

That’s hard to believe ... except for a few conservatives most in Congre$$ are only interested in their $$$$ net worth. As I understand it a COS is called to get a particular amendment passed such as term limits.

FReeper Bratch posted this earlier on the "Trump is Done" article which sums it up very clearly:

"By the time Donald Trump arrived decades of frustration exploded in an eruption of massive applause because he was articulating the central economic issue that was being ignored by the professional political class. The America First agenda is the restoration agenda. From Trump’s national economic policy, the middle-class erosion stopped. Economic security, specifically U.S. employment stability and wage rates, goes hand in glove with border security and immigration controls.

This reality creates a problem for the DC professional political class and the corporate media. Because MAGAnomics is the fundamentally binding principle there is no way to fracture the Trump supporter coalition.

Unfortunately, the Republican corporation does not carry that priority. Thus, the Big Ugly battle for control of the Republican Party is being previewed right now, and will grow in scale and consequence very soon.

The Republican Party is not positioning to win the 2024 election. The people in control of Republican Club do not care who is in the White House, that is a secondary objective. What they care about right now is controlling the Republican corporation and stopping the hostile (MAGA) takeover.

Every single Republican presidential candidate for 2024, sans Trump, will be inserted into the race to help the Republican corporation in this battle. When you see them enter, instead of asking, ‘how can they win‘, ask yourself what is their mission on behalf of the Club priority?"

Sporlights are on you, FR Dump-Trumpers. Choose between America's greatness regained or those profiting from her demise.

Based on his appearance on Fox last night, it sounds like he is going to try to accomplish much of the MAGA agenda, and take personal credit for it.

McCarthy is a typical RINO who promises much for MAGA, but delivers little. To quote Master Yoda, "Do or do not. There is no try."

Why are conservatives Republican? Well, at one time many conservatives believed Republicans were mostly conservative. They certainly talked a good game, and when more moderate Republicans won primaries, we supported them as being part of the same team. When we finally managed to nominate some real conservatives, shocker! The moderate Republicans revealed their true colors and tried to destroy the conservative candidates, either by not voting “for the team” or by outright voting against them.
