Democrat Mary Peltola has won the race for Alaska’s at-large congressional seat, NBC News projected Wednesday, defeating former governor and GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin.
While the election was held earlier this month, the race was not called for weeks because of Alaska’s new ranked-choice voting system where voters rank the candidates in order of preference.
After the first round of voting, Peltola led Palin by more than 20 percentage points, with Republican Nick Begich, a scion of one of Alaska’s most well-known political families, in third. But because Peltola failed to win more than 50 percent, the voting went to a second round with Begich eliminated and his votes redistributed to those voters’ second choice.
The three-way race was a rematch of a special election held earlier this year. Peltola made history in August, becoming the first Native Alaskan seated in Congress after she won the special election to replace longtime GOP Rep. Don Young, who died in March at the age of 88.

Ranked choice will always end with a Uniparty winner, that is the point. An establishment R voter will generally pick the Rat over a conservative because they have bought into the Uniparty and as such R GOPe vs Rat - not a lot of difference.
Someone in Tokyo is channeling the Lincoln Project.
Has this crap ever been brought thru the courts?
So, are Alaskans actually happy supporting the increasingly Marxist Democrats? Did the state turn radically to the left when a lot of us weren’t paying attention or is the economy just tremendously better up there so they aren’t suffering like the rest of the country under Dem rule?
Bkmk
Apparently too many are. The natives generally vote Dim, because they promise the most goodies, but having a native woman solidified it. Combined with idiots that actually believe this “bipartisan” crap and turncoat repukes working on Peltolas staff already; nailed it.
More smoke than a leaf fire.
Trumps endorsement record is actually pretty poor. And it’s documented to be pretty poor.
Murkowski triumphs, now this one.
Did I miss any bad news today?
"Ranked Choice"... just another way of proving, "even though it looks like you LOST.. you actually WON!"
I'd guess MOST Alaskan residents have nary a clue as to what's being put over on them.
Picking incumbents is easy. Any dummy can do that since they win the vast majority of the time. But look at the challengers. Especially in the Senate. Pretty pathetic actually.

Interesting.
Only ways to win at this time is two methods 1) Trump avoid Georgia completely (he would make it all about himself anyway); and b) Walker keep his mouth zipped and let Ted Cruz and Linda Graham do the ventriloquist talking for him like they did the other night on Fox.
I leave it to the morons in Alaska to care. A lot of stupid there.
Rank-Choice.
Rigged system of the Murkowskis, by the Murkowskis and for the Murkowskis.
The new Republican Speaker should refuse to recognize the Dem due to the lack of transparency, and also because ranked choice was not approved by the Alaska legislature. Refusing to seat the certified “winners” of rigged elections needs to start somewhere, and it is the constitutional power of each house to determine who won the seat. There is, of course, also the constitutional guarantee of a “Republican form of government”.
Effin bad news just keeps on piling up!
The documented 93% says otherwise troll.
Murkowski's opponent wasn't an incumbent.
That one's a previously long time NeverTrumper....who swore Trump would NEVER be President...and, was even willing to bet BIG money on it.
