Election results reversed in major Georgia county after memory card found with uncounted votes

The results of a local election in a major Georgia county have been reversed after officials discovered a memory card with hundreds of uncounted votes on it.

Madelyn Orochena was originally declared the victor of a race for a seat on the Kennesaw City Council in Cobb County,

"Looking forward to me being sworn in on Monday," she said at the time, according to Fox 5 Atlanta.

Yet 24 hours later, Orochena got a call from the county's Board of Elections about a memory card from one of the precincts had not been uploaded, the network reported.

The results were reportedly re-certified on Friday.

County Elections Director Janine Eveler said the uncounted votes on the memory card "changed the outcome" of the race, with Orochena's competitor, Lynnette Burnette, coming in first by 31 votes.

Fox News reported that Orochena called the incident "shameful" and claimed that "our faith in our governing bodies continues to fail."

In her victory speech, Lynnette Burnette said, “I would like to thank the campaign of Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger for showing us how to win elections in 2020!”

Yeah, she cheated. Orochena should sue and otherwise challenge this sham in any way that she can.

This is just like “Landslide Lyndon” Johnson getting that fortuitous late box of ballots that just happened to win him a U.S. Senate seat in Texas in 1948.

Her opponent conceded the race yesterday, iirc.

So far it looks like the better candidate won, where did you find her acceptance speech?

Weird. But that appears to be the new Dem technique…run a horrible candidate but actually don’t even let the voters know anything about him/her/it. And if they manage to find out, tell them that they’re bigots for not wanting to vote for the less qualified candidate.

I’ve looked in several different locations and cannot find the political affiliation of either of the candidates.

Not very many Republicans talking about all the voting system failures and irregularities. Well, not too many Demoncats talking about it either.
Trump and Kari Lake are two.
But we need more.
Kind of hard to get stoked enough to go vote when the cheat is on and most people even know it.
I guess Banana Republics can complain that the USA has appropriated voting methods that belong in Venezuela.

Government people should not be allowed to touch anything electronic. Leave this process to professionals or 12 year olds.

I will wait 2 months if I have to. And people can whine at me if they want:
1-National Holiday for voting day
2-Vote in person only
3-In person exception for deployed military, and immobile people only - must be documented
4-ID required
5-Hand count only

The computer age.

Used to be a car trunk full of uncounted ballots.

Now just a memory card.

Hi, My name is Madelyn Orochena. My family and I love living in the historic district of downtown kennesaw. I was born and raised in Kennesaw, graduated from Kennesaw Mountain High School, and received my BA in Dance from Kennesaw State University in 2012. I’ve been a volunteer for the city for the past three years have served the past two years as the Chair of the Arts and Culture Commission. As a passionate supporter of the arts, I understand the value art brings to a community.
Why I am running for Kennesaw City Council:
-Help foster downtown development which supports a thriving entertainment district
-Increase walkability while focusing on pedestrian safety
-Maintain an affordable city to, live, work and play
-Support the arts as a crucial component to the community
-Work to change the negative reputation we still face by focusing on compassion, equality, and progress

Rule #1: ‘Found’ votes must be counted.
Rule #2: ‘Found’ votes ALWAYS favor demoncrats.
