Harvard Poll: Donald Trump Up 18 Points over Ron DeSantis in Hypothetical GOP 2024 Primary

A new Harvard CAPS/Harris poll found that former President Donald Trump is the clear front-runner in a hypothetical 2024 Republican primary, leading Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis by 18 points.

The poll found that 46 percent of Republican voters would support Trump, compared to 28 percent who support DeSantis.

Former Vice President Mike Pence, who many speculate will launch a presidential bid in 2024, received just seven percent support. Texas Sen. Ted Cruz (R) came in fourth place in the poll with three percent, while Nikki Haley, Mike Pompeo, and Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) each polled at two percent.

The Harvard poll was taken after last week’s midterm elections and days after Trump announced his 2024 presidential campaign.

“In order to make America great and glorious again, I am tonight announcing my candidacy for the president of the United States,” Trump told a crowd of supporters at his Mar-a-Lago estate on Tuesday.

The poll also found that Trump would defeat President Joe Biden in a hypothetical 2024 rematch, while DeSantis would tie with Biden.

In a hypothetical rematch, 44 percent of voters would support Trump compared to 42 percent who would support Biden. The survey also found that Trump would beat Vice President Kamala Harris in a hypothetical election by a seven-point margin.

On the other hand, DeSantis and Biden tied at 43 percent in the poll.

The poll found that most voters doubt Biden’s mental fitness and think he should not run for a second term in office.

The Harvard CAPS/Harris poll surveyed 2,212 registered voters from November 16 to November 17.

You compare the list of voters with those who haven’t voted. You approach those who haven’t voted in your party with a ballot and have them vote for your candidate. The harvester then takes your ballot to the post office or a ballot box depending on the laws in that state.

Not illegal. Not really immoral either. Find a lazy republican, have them fill out and sign ballot, turn it in. You're merely increasing turnout. That is a big part of what the dems are doing to win. Only 7 states mass mail ballots so it's not like there's a billion ballots floating around to fraudulently fill in and return. CA, CO, HI, NV, OR, UT, WA are the states that mail them out en-masse.

Wouldn't take much in a lot of races.

Have you pleaded your case to Ron yet troll? I noticed he still hasn't announced.

I also noticed that nobody other than Trump has announced either, and that Trump himself didn't anounce for President the first time until June the year before the election. So it's not that everyone else is late. It's that Trump, for whatever reason, announced seven months early.

If DeSantis is going to announce, he's not going to do it before June of next year when the Florida legislative session ends.

I’ll indulge your points. Covid had Trump in a vice. With the MSM gleefully pouncing on every death any move to go the way Sweden did would amount to political suicide. The election would be long over before Trump was vindicated. Trump had no choice but to go along with Fauci and the scarf queen. The Covid opened the door to relaxing the weak election laws and the rats drove tanks through the opening. Trump was trapped pure and simple. Up to that point he did more to improve the country than any President in my lifetime and I have been on earth 70 years.
