It's anybody's guess, as is 'martial law', 'desperate move', and 'could hasten coup to dump ailing leader'.
Until it happens, it's all either conjecture or propaganda.
There is a nexus of corruption! A NYTimes/WEF event, no less. But of course.
It’s amazing how easily people are duped by a simplistic story of good vs evil; but if you dig down, you find the purported good is evil.

Update on Russian military operations in and around Ukraine for November 16, 2022
- Russia continues its campaign targeting Ukrainian infrastructure with missiles and drones;
- A recent barrage consisted of over 90 missiles, significantly degrading Ukraine's power grid;
- The West has said since April Russia was running out of missiles, yet large-scale use of missiles continues;
- Russia is also now using long-range precision kamikaze drones meaning Russia appears to have a growing number of long-range precision weapons;
- During the recent barrage it appears at least 2 Ukrainian air defense missiles missed their targets and struck civilians in Poland;
- After claiming Russia is a threat to Europe, it is a terrible irony that Ukraine is responsible for the first strike on NATO territory since Russian operations began in late February;
The Russian president has already drafted 360,000 on top of his one million strong regular army
—
Russian Ground Force (RGF) consisted of only 260,000-280,000 professionals, not a million.
If Putin secretly discovered something valuable in the Sea of Azov ... Everything would make more sense about all this.
Its not supposed to make sense from a Western perspective. No use trying, you’ll just go mad in the attempt.
To Russia, historically, obtaining a natural resource was simply a bonus. Russia see itself as the natural ruler of the world
Where do Russian borders stop? Where Russia says they do.
I’m not sure why the cheerleaders for war ignore the power behind Ukraine
It’s amazing how little most, if not all, commentators on the Ukraine war seem to know about, you know, WAR.
Building up your forces isn’t usually “desperate”, for example. The eventual winner has often done that, several times, in fact.
On the other hand, staging false flag attacks on neighboring states to force others to come to your aid could reasonably be called “desperate”.
Well, that's the issue all right.
Once agin, the question of the natural border between Russia and Germany comes to the forefront.
Torgau was too far West. Stalingrad was too far East.
The rest is up for grabs.
“you are truly a complete idiot”
This pretty much sums up what passes for intelligence from the toothless, brainless crowd of elderly FR warmongering wheelchair warriors.
Slouched over, incoherent, staring at Fox and Friends day after day.

More UK Daily Propaganda.
Do you notice that to a strange subset of posters here, opposing the Russian invasion makes you a “warmonger”?
Once agin, the question of the natural border between Russia and Germany comes to the forefront ... The rest is up for grabs.
No troll, its not a question of that place or the other - its a question historically where the Ruler of Russia says they stop ...
Some decades back they stopped at the Iron Curtain, but only because the West stopped them from from further.
Or put another way, the “rest up for grabs” is the rest of the world.
so we can safely assume you never make any financial contributions to FR, correct?
why are you still here then?
Do you notice that to a strange subset of posters here, opposing the Russian invasion makes you a “warmonger”?
“so we can safely assume you never make any financial contributions to FR, correct?”
None of your assumptions are safe, or sound. It’s been a while since I’ve made a contribution. But I have in the past.
I pop in here, mainly out of habit, to see if you warmongers have either been driven out by more sensible members or...if FR has gone out of business. I think a lot of the more sensible members are long gone.
You people have ruined what was once a pretty good thing.
“Like NATO has expanded from it’s original 12 countries to it’s current 30, with 2 pending?”
That’s a crap comparison, for many reasons. But the main one is - NATO isn’t a country. It’s an alliance.
Russia does actually have a NATO equivalent, called Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO). If you’re going to make comparisons, at least do like with like. Russia’s equivalent to NATO is the CSTO.
CSTO and NATO have several things in common:
One - national membership of either alliance is both entirely voluntary and both subject to an application process.
Two - BOTH alliances have expanded.
In 1992, only six post-Soviet states including Russia were CSTO members. Three more joined only a year later.
Bosnia and Herzegovina is progressing its accession (with 84% of those who identified as Bosniak or Croat supporting NATO membership, and more than half of the rest of the population also wanting it.)
The main difference between the two treaty organisations is, CSTO has had leavers as well as joiners. Three have already left.
One reason for that is some of the CSTO members that have invoked Article 4 are still waiting for Russia to lift a finger despite the obligation - completely undermining the point of having an alliance to begin with. It’s an alliance that exists only for benefit Glorious Russia, and they can see it benefits only Russia.
Another is that the war in Ukraine is Russia’s own personal private war of aggression and has bugger all to do with the CSTO charter. Chechnya and Belarus might’ve weighed in on Russia’s side but they’re really in the minority.
Moscow pundits keep complaining that CSTO members aren’t pitching in - but the reason they’re not is because they know the war is being conducted on completely bullshit grounds that if anything make being in that alliance a massive liability, not a security guarantee.
There’s increasing speculation that more countries will quit CSTO next year - in fact there are fears in Russian circles that maybe only 2 or 3 countries (Russia, Belarus, and possibly one of the ‘Stans) still in it! That became abundantly clear in Tashkent recently.
https://versia.ru/odkb-povtoryaet-sudbu-varshavskogo-dogovora
So you’re not comparing like with like. Russia is unilaterally invading Ukraine, without any support from the United Nations or China - and three of its CSTO treaty partners are sitting on their hands refusing to help as well.
CSTO is different to NATO in two major respects - the first is that it was crafted entirely for Russian benefit, the second is that unlike NATO it served no purpose other than to address vatnik butt-hurt.
Apart from hypersonic missiles, is there ANYTHING made in Russia that any country outside Russia wants? Natural resources don’t count - I’m talking about things that a country can make.
Even Ukraine made some good stuff for export before the invasion. What does Russia make that any sane person would want to buy?
Washing machines? Nope. Cars? Haven’t seen a new Lada in years. Toilets? Not even for domestic use. Treaties? They can’t seem to make any without breaking ‘em. Treaty organisations? Can’t expand them, can’t even hold on to existing members.
If Russia was a working dog, you’d give it the Old Yeller treatment. It is about as useless as a one-legged racehorse.
MalPearce, what country are you from?

...that is all
I spent 25 years working with overseas companies and research institutions in the energy and research - in America up in New Hampshire, several countries in eastern Europe, Germany, Scandinavia and the Middle East. Prior to that I worked in high tech industries including in Japan and South Korea. Because of all that traveling I speak 4 languages pretty well, and can read maybe seven others.
I’m getting on a bit and am fed up with globetrotting so now have a rural property in England and am winding down for retirement.
How about you?
