NATO became a threat when they supported Muslim terrorist separatists.
This shooting war has been ongoing since 2014 when the US and NATO engineered a coup against an elected, pro-Russian Ukrainian government that spawned the separatist movement in the Donbas and the Russian annexation of Crimea. Zelensky campaigned as the “Peace President” to end the war.
Despite the red lines put forth by Russia that it would not allow Ukraine to become part of NATO, we pushed forward with that objective including having Ukrainian troops trained by NATO and participating in NATO war exercises. You cannot view the current Russian invasion without viewing it in historical context.
Due to our meddling, Ukraine was not independent. They were all tangled up with our corrupt as hell government and firmly in our camp. If they were actually independent, this war would never have happened.

This proxy war could not be fought without US assistance. SecDef Austin said the objectives are regime change in Russia and weakening Russia so it is no longer a threat to Europe.
Do you really think there are no US boots on the ground in Ukraine? We are providing real time intelligence to Ukraine using our satellites. We probably have US Intel assets inside Ukraine as advisors and trainers.
We are paying for the operation and pensions of the Ukrainian government. How do you think Ukrainian troops are being paid?
The US can no longer be the world’s policeman. We are broke. Our own country is in peril. We have no strategic interests in Ukraine. We have no treaty obligations to defend Ukraine. Endless wars have weakened the US. Our greatest threat is China.
