Med schools are even more woke than you think — and your care is at risk
New York Post ^ | November 16, 2022 | Dr. Stanley Goldfarb

Just how woke is your nearest medical school? Likely very woke — yet the organization that helps oversee medical schools thinks it’s not woke enough.

So says the Association of American Medical Colleges, which last week released the first-ever analysis of the extent to which “diversity, equity and inclusion” have infected the institutions training future physicians. I’ve covered this trend for years, but even I didn’t realize just how much patients should worry about the decline in standards and, in time, the quality of their own care.

The AAMC surveyed 101 institutions, representing almost two-thirds of American medical schools (two are in Canada), asking for audits of their DEI-related policies and programs. While the AAMC doesn’t appear to have released a list of participating schools, my organization discovered the audits’ existence in October, when Ohio State University included the document prepared by its College of Medicine in response to our freedom of information request.

The entire medical community crashed its reputation and credibility with their abject panic over the Wuhanic Plague.

Thank you. I also started taking something called red yeast rice, a natural statin.

My wife and I are almost 69. We’ve not had health insurance of any kind since 1/1/2013 other than medicare A, which comes as the free toy in every package of Social Security flakes.

We take responsibility for our own health and, more importantly, trust the Great Healer. And he has been faithful!

We’ve also saved over $100,000 in insurance payments - after taxes.

Dude…. Wow. You did good. The days are long gone where you can just automatically follow anything they tell you. Good thing you were switched on.

12 years ago I went to a doctor at Swedish medical in the seattle area because of a VERY sore big toe. I said I didn’t remember stubbing it or breaking it or anything. He took x-rays and said it didn’t look like a break but to take care of it and see if it got any better.

I went home and google searched “sore red toe”. In five minutes it became painfully obvious it was gout, and five minutes later I had a natural cure - which worked.

I don’t really have a lot of need for GP’s any more, except for if I need a broken bone set or something.

Suddenly everyone's talking about euthanasia.

Why?

It's a trial balloon.

The 80 million baby boomers born in the US from 1946-1964 will not be allowed to die natural deaths.

They plan to put us down like dogs.

They are now testing public reaction.

Yes, I’ve heard that. I think it’s more about what you don’t eat, like candy bars and transfats.

yeah my freind had high cholesterol and began eating oatmeal for breakfasts- and it did drop pretty significantly- (He is not a healthy eater at all- and ‘grazes’ all day long, and while he has always been active, he doesn’t walk or bike due to bad hip- so his eating habits caught up with him and he got the high cholesterol- but swears the oatmeal was key to dropping it- I note he stil l eats junk all day too-)

I have to take care of my elderly mother who loves potato chips and Symphony candy bars. Her cholesterol is high and of course doctor wants to put her on a medication. This one is called Leqvio, an injection that costs $3200 per injection given twice a year. After thinking about it, we said no, but getting my mother to change her diet is like pulling teeth, it took me 10 years just to get her to take a multivitamin and those are just gummies.

My m-i-l had dementia and ate terrible and smoked like a chimney in her latter years. She was about 85 when she passed.

We tried to feed her well, but what a fight it was.

The doctor, being very realistic, just said to do the best we could. At that point, there was not much we were going to be able to do to change her, and considering her age, there just wasn’t any point in trying too hard to improve her diet or getting her to quit smoking. The damage was done and we might as well just let her enjoy her few years left. They had enough experience with dementia patients to know that.

It’s hard to watch, but it is what it is.

Mr. mm’s grandmother lived to be in her mid-90’s with a cholesterol pushing 350. We found the medical records of a blood panel they did about 2 years before she passed.

FWIW, oatmeal will nuke cholesterol but doesn’t stop you from getting a partially blocked carotid artery. 😠
