The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday turned away another challenge to a federal ban imposed under former President Donald Trump on devices called "bump stocks" that enable a semi-automatic weapon to fire like a machine gun.

The justices declined to review an appeal by a group of firearms dealers and individuals in Minnesota, Texas, and Kentucky after a lower court rejected their arguments that the government had violated the U.S. Constitution's Fifth Amendment "takings clause" by effectively taking their private property without just compensation.

Trump's administration moved to reclassify bump stocks as machine guns, which are forbidden under U.S. law, in a rare firearms control measure prompted by a 2017 mass shooting in Las Vegas.

The Supreme Court in 2019 declined to block the ban from going into effect. The justices last month rejected appeals by a Utah gun lobbyist and firearms rights groups of lower court rulings upholding the ban as a reasonable interpretation of a federal law prohibiting machine gun possession.

And yet no one is challenging mail-in ballots or ballot harvesting, or the lack of 1 man 1 vote under RCV? WTH. Wasn’t the GOP bragging about having teams of lawyers watching for fraud, yet not 1 of them is getting a case to SCOTUS to overturn the fraudulent election system of mail in ballots and illegally choosing elected officials by who gets the most “ballots” instead of by who gets the most votes?

We only have a bill
Of rights In this country nowadays
Because it fools some people into not revolting against the dictatorship

Like the laws the pigs had displayed on the wall of Animal Farm only less honest

Another one for the winning column. Where are the victory laps here for SCOTUS siding with Trump?

Which means the ban on forced reset triggers will probably stand.

Probably. Our gunsmith installed one and when he test fired it, he took it out and told the owner that he would not install it. If the owner bought it with a CC, I’m sure the ATF has already asked him to surrender it.

Why did the gunsmith remove it? Liability or safety reasons?

Who knows what lurks in the minds of the SCOTUS? Maybe they think they've done enough for the 2A for now. I don't agree, but...

The worst thing about this is that it sets the stage for another non-challenge, when the forthcoming ATF rules on pistol braces come up. Right now that is looking to be ugly. But when you have federal bureaucrats who hate privately-owned firearms running the FedGov's gun-control apparatus, "The worse, the better", as their patron saint, Vlad Lenin, once quipped.

Liability and legality. He didn’t want his gun shop tied to it.
