The midterm clusterfark has drawn plenty of hot takes and instant analyses that range from insightful to self-serving to unbelievably stupid. But now that we have gotten past the initial blasts of the flamethrower, perhaps we should take a breath and sit down, and think about where we are as a movement and what we need to do as a party for 2024. There’s a lot to talk about, from procedural questions like how we intend to cope with the new world of extended mail voting to substantive imperatives like how we must repeal the 19th Amendment as it applies to single, liberal women who vote for their Democrat Daddy in appalling numbers. We need to ask questions about candidate selection, money, issue choices, and a bunch of other stuff. And we need to answer the question of what to do about Donald J. Trump.
My DMs and texts and chats and super-secret Townhall VIP email (Join with promo code KURT for a discount!) exploded – I mean, they went the full Nagasaki – during the 24 hours after the election, and most of it was along the lines of “I am so done with Trump!” It was not just a few people, and it was not only on back channels (Twitter was alive with Trump-roasting). It was a lot of people, and most were pretty damn hardcore. These were not Never Trump sissies or establishment shills – those losers don’t get to talk to me. These were people who, unanimously, were grateful for what Trump did.

You’re not gonna make it, pal. Unless you quickly learn to play well with others.
"Piling onto a new guy "
Glad to see you up and around ;)
This is resembling a lynch mob more than a discussion forum.
In fact, I’m reminded of an incident in 1918, in Collinsville, IL. A German-American man made the mistake of saying something in his native tongue. He was stripped naked, made to walk on broken beer bottles, while the mob sang patriotic songs, and marched him to the end of town, where they hanged him from a tree. The local paper at the time said it was a great way to treat enemies of the United States.
Because he spoke German.
Name someone better... Who has fought the libtard media harder...
You think they will treat anyone else better?
#184 is my current favorite GIF. 😂😆😄🤣

I can do civil debate. I will not suffer abuse.

I still have my Granddad’s beanie from his Freshman year of college, before WWII. Funny, after the war, Freshman beanies and hazing ended. Because the veterans refused to put up with that crap.
You’ve given no indication of that so far.
If you open your discussion with me with insults, you get back what you give.
Hey, it happens. Like the crew here says, you have to grow a thick skin.
Several of us have been here for a couple of decades and more and we still encounter vicious posters regularly. Did you ever observe the vax-pushers addressing those of us who didn’t care for our government trying to force a shot on us?
And the Ukie Fan Club. Heck, I personally come under attack from those little ankle-nipping teacup poodles almost daily and I just laugh and give it back to ‘em. Here’s sort of how that goes:
Me: “What I’m against is giving billions of our dollars to a mincing little grifter in a foreign country every time he demands it.”
Ankle Nipper: “You’re a PUTIN PUFFER! A filthy COMMUNIST! You love RuZZia, you BOLSHEVIK!”
Water off a duck’s back. I give it back to them in kind (it’s all they understand), which really pisses them off, but I do it without f-bombs and references to lying in mud with pigs. (That really was uncalled for.)
If you’re friendly and respectful to people, they generally will be with you. And those who aren’t, let ‘em have it, but you’ve got to maintain a little class.

And I have endeavored to be friendly and respectful to people. I made a fairly innocuous post, and the lynch mob piled on. I won’t be hanged without putting up a fight.
Yes, unreal the crassness.
So many ways to make an intelligent point, without resorting to that low life level.
Surprised it still has posting privileges, after that unhinged mess.
😜
🙃
I’m flattered that you see me that way, but I must be honest. I’m not a vet. (My dad was a 28-year Navy vet. Recon aviator.)
I was honored to work embedded with US Joint Forces with CPATT, USACE GRD and the J8 over in the Sandbox for several years, but I never wore the uniform.
A lot of my favorite co-workers were Marines. So down to earth.
You had boots on the ground in the desert, just like we did.
