Tesla is KICKING Toyota's BUTT | Toyota acting like Kodak
Cleanerwatt ^ | NOVEMBER 12 2022 | Cleanerwatt

When it comes to EVs, Toyota has been dragging their feet, but now reality is hitting them smack in the face - they were wrong about EVs - and are beginning to look a bit like Kodak. Meanwhile, Tesla has been kicking butt and taking names and Toyota may soon be a relic of the past if they don’t pivot quickly.

The trouble with Toyota is, they have been number 1 in the car business for so long, they find it hard to turn round and even contemplate reducing their dominant position in the ICE vehicles to commit seriously to EV's. They are still making half hearted efforts with their hybrid cars and a very small market share in EVs. Its going to cost them sooner or later.

Oh yeah. Toyota doesn’t know how to do R&D? They don’t know how to play the long game? Don’t know how to make money?
Get outta here!!

Look, EVs are now doing 500 miles in some cases.
Most people don't on average travel 500 miles in the whole week in their cars.

The problem with the EVs is that there is not enough material to make batteries for near as many cars as Toyota produces.

So a YouBoober who makes his living pushing EVs thinks Toyota will go the way of Kodak for not joining the cult. Sure.

It's more conceivable that Toyota (and Nissan) will actually be ahead of the curve as they are embracing a technology that could actually be a true alternative, hydrogen.

Wrong

Stupid analysis. Toyota is smart enough to know that there is not even -close- to enough of the metals on planet earth to build the batteries needed for an all electric fleet.
Then Toyota also knows that a small gasoline engine combined with a smaller battery hybrid gives you range, safety, cabin heat, etc etc.

Chances are, Toyota, a worldwide company, Japanese and beyond woke thinking guilt trips knows better than true believers of EV.

Toyota know plenty about R & D.
But then Toyota are not committing enough money to EV R & D and new factories for EV’s.

Obviously SmokingJoe and TexasGator have never traveled outside of the US, where Toyota runs the world.

I’m not about to buy a $80,000 car where the $20,000 battery will go out in a few years. That is, if the car doesn’t spontaneously burst into flames first. If rich people want them as expensive toys, fine. Maybe in 25 years most of the bugs will be worked out and they will be affordable.

LOL. My thought exactly. Imagine Tesla in Africa or Mongolia (ironically the most popular car in Mongolia is Prius).

Hybrids make sense. So the left is pushing all electric because it is expensive and it is impractical for most people.

Tesla doesn't have problems getting batteries for their EV’s and Toyota is far bigger and richer and more powerful than Tesla.
Plus Tesla get a big chunk of their batteries from Panasonic, which Tesla joined with to produce EV batteries in Nevada.
Toyota is Japanese as well, no?

These battery fanatics never brag about the sticker price for their electric toy car, do they? Or how much the taxpayers are getting jobbed on every new EV sale. Or disclose how many ICE vehicles they also own....

Actually, I have lived and worked in different countries in Africa for years.
And probably know more about those countries than most people here including you.

At least Toyota isn't caving to the New World Order FORCED EV's/Global Warming farce........that's unfortunately been taught to the indoctrinated YEWTS. You who think humans will out-B.S. mother nature are a long way from common sense.

Reap what you sew, peons.
