The chickens have come home to roost for Donald Trump in Pennsylvania. After he stuck his nose in the state’s Republican primary process last May against the guidance of his most loyal advisers, many of his once-devoted followers say they are done with the former president.
(snip)
“If you’re a Republican in Pennsylvania and you look at Donald Trump’s bigfooting of the people in Pennsylvania and the implosion of his candidates in Pennsylvania, you’re pretty upset,” said Urban, a Washington-based strategist who grew up in Beaver County, Pa.
Urban said his phone has been ringing all week with county chairs and committee people who tell him they’ve had it with Trump.
“They said, ‘Look, we’re done. We’re done with him. He cost us this election and we’re done.’”
He’s not the only one. All day Wednesday my phone lit up with calls and emails from voters who expressed the exact same frustration. One woman said she saw the writing on the wall last weekend when Trump decided to take a swipe at Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis — calling him “Ron DeSanctimonious” — while he campaigned for Oz and Mastriano in Pennsylvania.
And when Trump went on to tease that he was going to announce “something big” next week (presumably his run for president in 2024), she knew it would hurt Oz on Election Day.
“I had a pit-of-my-stomach moment as I watched the rally,” said the former Trump fan, who did not want to be named. “It is hard to quit Trump — I voted for him twice enthusiastically.” But “at this juncture, I think we have to move forward to a new generation of leaders.”

PA elected Fetterman!
Think about that!
They are to lame, not Trump!
He has fought the political machines of both parties and corrupted Federal law enforcement and institutions better than anyone else could. Until someone rises to replace him, there is none better, warts and all.
Given everything he's been through, yes, he's going to have a bad days. He's going to push the wrong buttons. Its not going to be roses and sunshine all the time.
And DeSantis was nearly beaten by a gay crack-smoking whore-monger, not long ago. PA may now be a reliable Blue State. Let’s hope Texas holds Red. Florida looks pretty good. MI is trouble. GA is problematic. Securing Nevada and Arizona would be helpful. The electoral map is shifting. I think a lot depends on whether the Biden decline is linear, or becomes exponential. But FFS, let’s not listen to the MSM.
Such bull-loney!
That’s kind of my point. When was the last time the Pennsylvania GOP fielded an “unbeatable” candidate in a statewide race?
Agree!
They do seem to come out of the woodwork ...pun intended!
HA!

Let's compare Philadelphia with New York City, a place no one would consider conservative. In only one of New York's five boroughs, Manhattan, did the Democratic candidate for governor exceed 80%. Staten Island went Republican, as is usual, but the other three boroughs were in the 63-75% range for the Democrat. Moreover, the Republican won three of the four main suburban counties around New York while the Democrats, both Fetterman and Shapiro, in Pennsylvania won all of the suburban counties around Philadelphia.
The ethnic demographics of the two cities are roughly similar: both are about one-third non-Hispanic white and about 25-30% Hispanic, with more blacks in Philadelphia and more Asians in New York City. It may be that the Democrats are so confident of their control of the Empire State that they are less reliant on cheating than are their neighbors in the Keystone State. New York City represents 44% of the population of New York, while Philadelphia has only 12% of Pennsylvania's population.
While comparing New York City voting patterns with those of Philadelphia does not prove cheating, the huge Democratic margins in a city that is not overwhelmingly African American makes you wonder why this is so, I think that since rural Pennsylvania is more conservative than upstate New York or rural New England, that fact deludes some Republicans into thinking that the Keystone State can become red when it is at best purple.
It should have been obvious what they were going to try to do to his supporters. He’s either clueless or was just looking out for himself. Either one is disqualifying in my book. I heard McConnell gave him an ultimatum that if he pardoned them that he was going to be convicted. He should have called his bluff. It’s not like he couldn’t have challenged this illegal impeachment anyway since you cannot impeach a former president.
Hey Salina
True Trump supporters are not going away.
all you never Trumpers are afraid he will do what’s right
for the U.S.I guess never Trumpers can’t handle that.
wh00ps!
Lame= blame
Why don’t you leave and never come back.
What was McConnell’s vision for a GOP Senate Majority?
Tell us. We would all like to know what his plan is.
I voted for him in 2012, but he has turned out much worse than I ever would have imagined.
No, its a straightforward one for all politicians to make sure their loyalties and those who they endorse/support are pointed correctly. If Trump wants people to support him then he needs to stop demanding loyalty to him and start demanding loyalty to the Constitution. Then Trump can win support. Right now he just doesn’t have enough support to win the 2024 Election. And even if he does win then he’s done on January 20, 2029 and the country is still going to need strong leadership in the future if we still haven’t paid off the National Debt by then or we have any clueless Snowflakes that cast ballots with the purpose of fleecing America.
“They said, ‘Look, we’re done. We’re done with him. He cost us this election and we’re done.’”
BS
You did a shitty job and now look to deflect and diffuse your piss poor performance...
He’s running.
The most sound, irrefutable defense Trump has had to all the accusations of him inciting an “insurrection” on January 6th is that he clearly told the crowd at his gathering to go over to the Capitol to demonstrate peacefully there.
Issuing a blanket pardon to all those clowns who took it upon themselves to storm the Capitol building would have completely undermined his defense against these accusations.
