Republicans wipe out moderate Democrats in NY red surge

They’re becoming an endangered species — moderate Democrats in New York.

Republican candidates rolled over veteran left-center Democratic legislators like bowling pins in Tuesday’s downstate races.

They were virtually annihilated in southern Brooklyn.

GOP candidate Lester Chang — who ran against bail reform and championed merit-based education and school choice — toppled 36-year veteran Assemblyman Peter Abbate in the 49th District Bensonhurst/Borough Park/Sunset Park.

“I went door to door and asked voters, ‘Are you better off than you were two years ago?'” Chang said.

Everybody who blames Trump for the election results I’m so sure will come by and give credit to Trump for this.

Moderate Dems also got wiped out in Long Island — all 4 House seats were won by Republicans.

Republicans also regained seats in the state Senate and Assembly on Long Island.

In a shocker, GOP candidate Edward Flood upset veteran Suffolk Assemblyman Steve Englebright, the chairman of the environmental conservation committee first elected in 1992.

“Moderate” Democrat?

Who are they kidding. There hasn’t been a moderate Democrat since Scoop Jackson.

Mitt and McCain and anyone named Bush.

I’m guessing when all is said and done Democrats will hold the House and the Senate will be called based on Georgia... after spending a fortune on that race Democrats will win it too. Feels like the fix is in...

The closest thing to a moderate was Clinton, and he was no moderate. But the press keeps digging libs up and labeling them as moderates, probably because they bathe.

I'm in NY CD-3. The Republican flipped the blue seat to red and won by 9 points.

He was a January 6th attendee at the Capitol and during the campaign he refused to apologize for it.

Credit this win to Trump.

I am to believe that Repubs can trounce Rats in NY but at the same time Rats keep most of their seats nationwide.

The USA is over. The last real election was in 2016. The Rats will never lose power again. In 2024 the vote stealing machine will be absolutely perfected.

Prepare yourselves.

Trump supported these NY candidates with money or rallies?

Screw both chambers in DC what really counts are the state official races that control what goes in the lives of their constituents! DC doesn’t care about the American people anymore it’s all about them and lining their pockets and power. DC feels like another has been part in America that doesn’t work anymore!
We need to start concentrating on state races more then concentrating filling up the both potty chambers with nothing but greedy money hungry POS and anti-people representatives!

Zell Miller was around after Nunn.

I don’t think there’s anyone left like either of them.

Zell Miller was the last of them, as far as I am concerned. His ‘spit balls’ speech was a classic.

They’ll throw us a few wins to quell the fears of pearl clutchers... and wins like this will make us all feel good.

I’m still guessing democrats take it all and use Walker as a way to finis off the humiliation...
