The series finale of Paramount+ "The Good Fight" left social media users stunned on Thursday for featuring a plot in which a character claimed to be sexually assaulted by Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis, only to confess he was lying later on in the show
The finale of the courtroom drama's sixth and final season premiered on Thursday with the episode titled "The End of Everything." In a clip widely shared online, the episode features the main character Diane Lockhart, played by Christine Baranski, meeting with Felix Staples, a flamboyant, gay provocateur who has made appearances in earlier seasons of the long-running show. In a conference room surrounded by lawyers, Staples claims that he was sexually assaulted by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who forced him to have oral sex following a CPAC conference while interning for his office.
Diane immediately dismisses the accusation as politically motivated "bulls---" despite Staples claiming to have DNA proof. The lawyers spend the episode gathering evidence to expose Staples for lying. He eventually confesses to fabricating the allegations to tarnish the Florida governor's reputation, because it will put former President Trump "ahead in the polling" in 2024's presidential race.
The episode ignited a firestorm on Twitter, with users calling the show "unhinged" and questioning the legalities of casting the governor as a potential sex offender in the fictitious TV show. Other users called it the first of many smear campaigns by Hollywood to be brought against the Florida governor as he remains a popular potential 2024 presidential contender.

The democrats could not have picked an easier person to beat. They did that for a reason. Crist is a big loser no matter what party he runs for. I would have stayed home too.
Juanita Broderick, white courtesy phone.
Stupid people, stop watching that crap.
Yes, but when they can’t use your own words against you, it makes it much harder for things to stick.
There’s just too much drama and divisiveness surrounding DeSantis. I don’t know about him.
Makes one wonder why they decided to lay off DeSantis.
They throw the kitchen table at the fridge, something always sticks, like abortion and democracy.
Correct!!! Tie Trump in ...
The laptop that the fbi had... the one most in Washington know the contents. It is pretty bad... if the public knew.. it would be the end of a lot of those keeping it secret.
There are 4 in congress... Republicans who have not sold their soul.. ready with pages already written info, to investigate the bidens and more... they need the house and senate to do this right. What’s in that laptop is enough to settle a lot of loose talk and more.
If any one of them, who are working for us... had to or decided to... they could drop a bomb on the dems, the media and all who hate Trump.
This is not over yet! I hope to see a wave.. a ride of the century, where we get our country back from the deep state.
As I have heard.. Trump is not worried... he does not look worried... I pray for our country..
I am supporting Trump 100%. Only cowards turn tail and run!

Same here. And have you noticed all the newcomer disinformation shills here trying to divide support between Trump and DeSantis? I hope DeSantis doesn’t fall for the courting by Paul Ryan, leader of the rino’s, and wish DeSantis would publicly come out supporting Trump for a 2024 run and put this division to rest.
PS= I don’t think what Trump said about DeSantis was bad.
but but I thought they only do this kind of crap to Trump.
DeSantis better learn to get out in front of this stuff and go on the offense, (like Trump),or he’s going to be defined by the press.
Imagine. but politics isn't that simple. DeSantis has people telling him that he should keep his powder dry for a 2024 run. And even if he was thinking not to run and keep 2028 viable, he might not endorse Trump this early. That tells me something, I can learn how he thinks from that decision. Is he thinking about himself, or his country? Is he not being loyal to someone who helped him a short while ago - now THAT pisses me off. We all know people in our lives like that, you help them then they turn. I don't like that.
Sick
The already have. McConnell, Ryan, Romney,...
This is the so-called ‘best man’ fallacy. Fetterman’s election is a good example of this phenomenon. Republicans, for what ever reason, have since TR been all over the landscape looking for ‘the best man’to support and run as a candidate. The dems have , since floundering around for three presidential cycles after Wilson trying to find their variant ‘the winning man’ settled with the powerful presence of FDR on ‘the best man is the man the party nominates-period’. The idea is simple, dems have greater party discipline as a result of largely controlling the national political landscape since the 1930 elections. So once a decision is made the party is all in for the candidate, regardless of the person’s lapses, immoralities, vnalities or physical frailty. Long serving national figures such as Carl Hayden, Theodore Green, or Carter Glass who were clearly mentally impaired and still served until they died in office are all dems. For dems the party and using the party to gain and retain power is everything. The weakness or corruption of individuals is irrelevant as long as they mouth the party line, even in retirement it is almost impossible to find a dem who will ever offer an honest and independent analysis of any political issue or personality. Gopers are obsessed with individual preening, virtue signaling or issues other than party power accumulation. As long as they are the GOP will never have the prehensile grip on a power drive to control the political landscape as it did from 1860 to 1912.
“There’s just too much drama and divisiveness surrounding DeSantis. I don’t know about him.”
I know you’re being sarcastic but there’s truth to this. DeSantis has not had the full court oriface exam that lasts for years like Trump has had. Before you revel in the lack of drama and divisiveness around DeSantis, I suggest you wait until he’s firmly locked on radar. You’ll be amazed by what they say and how it forces DeSantis to respond.
This is like what happened in Britain in 1945 when Churchill and the Tories lost to Labour.
All the Tories had was Churchill, Labour had a post-war plan laid out. Granted if PM was between Churchill and Atlee, Churchill probably wipes the floor with Atlee, but that’s not how it works in Britain, the party that wins Parliament chooses the PM.
Under the Alex Jones rule, DeSantis needs to sue the snot out of them.

Get used to this, Joe. It is going to get worse. They can and will get nasty. Good Luck.
I know you will handle it. I just don’t know how you will. But I got confidence in you.
