Proposition 1: Measure to add abortion rights to California Constitution takes big lead in early voting

Abortion rights appeared to be on their way to becoming enshrined in the California Constitution Tuesday as Proposition 1 received strong support in early voting.

The measure, which was expected to pass, leads with 68.2% of voters saying “yes” and 31.2% “no” with roughly a third of votes counted. The decisive win would cement California’s role as a national leader in protecting abortion access.

Similar proposed amendments are also on the ballot in Michigan and Vermont, where early results show them both passing with 54.8% and 80.8% of the vote, respectively. A constitutional amendment in Kentucky that refuted abortion rights was also slated to pass.

The decisive win would cement California’s role as a national leader in protecting abortion access.

That is to say, in savagely killing innocent babies in the one place they should be the safest--in their mother's womb. Not something of which I'd be proud of being "a national leader" unless I was determined to grease the skids on my way to hell.

The good news is not every state is like California.

A constitutional amendment in Kentucky that refuted abortion rights is also slated to pass.

Like him or not, this is Trump’s long lasting legacy — FEDERALISM.

He appointed justices that overturned the unconstitutional Roe v. Wade in the DOBBS decision, which made abortion a STATES RIGHTS issue instead of a Federal government controlled issue.

No!

Abortion and killing infants at any time up to and including the time of birth is the very definition of sin, extreme wickedness, and only a good idea to Satan himself.

Delivering undeserved death to the absolutely most vulnerable, a baby with no voice whatsoever in the matter - how is that possibly in any righteous world “”the way it should work”?

Did anybody see anything about the article that said this proposition was actually going to limit abortions in california, because it made it illegal after the point of viability?

Evidently, we are not understanding the Democrats passion for abortion.

I think that we should engage them on the subject.

I recommend using a discussion method that I read about in a Stephen Covey book.

You cannot argue your position until you have clearly stated the other persons position TO THE SATISFACTION OF THE OTHER PERSON.

This method must be agreed upon by both people.

This is a reasonable way to discuss very emotional issues.

You can even volunteer to go first.

It is a real eye-opener.

It is non-threatening.

“I will not state any pro life positions until I have clearly stated the pro choice position TO YOUR SATISFACTION. Then, you will state the pro life position to my satisfaction. After this, we can state our positions and argue for them.”

If the pro choice person refuses to engage this way, then it makes them look irrational and simply bull headed.

RE: because it made it illegal after the point of viability?

How do you define viability? How many weeks and why?

I’m definitely not pro abortion, but if there’s a silver lining in all this, the California voters have now reduced the reproduction rate of liberals.

How is this much different than what the convicted abortionist Kermit Gosnell did in his clinic killing newborns? This Ca ghoulish law would permit abortion up to birth as I understand it. Godless, stupid, ghoulish is no way to go through this life which then winds up in hell. They will have chosen their fiery and moronic eternity.

What has gotten me kicked off a few forums was this argument.

“I support aborting black babies before they become criminals.”
“I support aborting any transgender and gay baby because they are born that way.”

It really puts them on the spot at what they are supporting. Abortion for any reason at anytime. So pit their two golden calves in the same sentence and it infuriates them.
