McCarthy assures supporters of GOP victory in House despite close races

Rep. Kevin McCarthy, the Republican leader in the House, declared early Wednesday morning that the GOP would flip the chamber – even though final results were not yet tallied – and now faces an angry caucus and the possibility of his becoming speaker in jeopardy.

“When you wake up tomorrow, we will be in the majority and Nancy Pelosi will be in the minority,” McCarthy said in a speech to supporters shortly after midnight.

“We are expanding this party. The American people are ready for a majority that will offer a new direction that will put America back on track,” the California Republican continued, ticking off the races won by GOP candidates.

Republicans had been predicting a red wave in the House and Senate based on historical trends, as well as the nation’s mood over inflation, rising crime and President Biden’s sinking job favorability rating, but the wave failed to gather.

Oz treated Fetterman like he belonged on the playing field. He didn’t, but as a good Republican he was always polite. Lot’s of political ads with the word extreme in them which all fell woefully short. Nice guys finish last Dr Oz, and you are a walking, talking example.

Right now we have 219 in the bag. Even NYT is saying that. They are going to drag this shit out so it “looks close”. Everyone ate up the BS the MSM gave you about the election so even when the republicans flip the house - you still think its a lose.

I am only mildly disappointed. I remember how far ahead romney was in 2012. The polls showed him winning by a lot.

“the polls are for showing how many fraudulent votes are needed.”

218 is all they need. Means gridlock for two years, means Biden’s legislative agenda is dead. With Biden and his veto pen, the GOP wasn’t passing anything in 2023-2024 anyway, it’s all about stopping the damage Joe can do, and the barrier to do that is much lower.

It seems Dems have decided to lie or not respond to pollsters as well.

The dems are knowledgable and adept at "street fighting" while the GOP are a bunch of "wussies" who get their lunch money taken every day. The result in this case is that Pennsylvania has now provided another "sh*t for brains" puppet for 0bama and soros in DC.

McCarthy is garbage. America did not need his “victory”.

It seems the ChiComs are running a better game than Americans.

I find this election cycle worse than 2020. In 2020 I figured voters were taking the relatively good economic times for granted.

This time everyone knows things suck, and way too many still vote rat. Voting patterns are nothing like they used to be.

There are only two explanations - the system has been compromised to the point the deep state wins every time, or the nation has gone insane.

he was awful, but his opponent was a radical who should have been dealt with a honest medical diagnosis, rather than a milquetoast political powder puff.

Am I the only one that thinks the GOP needs new leadership at the top starting with replacing McCarthy, Ronna McDaniel, and Mitchie The Turtle?

No, we all think that but McConnell, McCarthy, and McDaniel don’t want to lose their power, first and foremost. McConnell made that very well known. They wouldn’t fight for any candidate that might vote against them for leadership. Power over Party.

And where do you think these leaders are magically going to come from?

It’s wise to remember the words of George Carlin....

“Forget the politicians. The politicians are put there to give you the idea that you have freedom of choice. You don’t. You have no choice. You have owners. They own you. They own everything. They own all the important land. They own and control the corporations. They’ve long since bought and paid for the Senate, the Congress, the state houses, the city halls. They got the judges in their back pockets and they own all the big media companies, so they control just about all of the news and information you get to hear. They got you by the balls. They spend billions of dollars every year lobbying. Lobbying to get what they want. Well, we know what they want. They want more for themselves and less for everybody else, but I’ll tell you what they don’t want. They don’t want a population of citizens capable of critical thinking. They don’t want well-informed, well-educated people capable of critical thinking. They’re not interested in that. That doesn’t help them. That’s against their interests. That’s right.”
