NEWTOWN, Penn. — John Fetterman, the state lieutenant governor, has won Pennsylvania’s high-voltage race for an open Senate seat, defeating celebrity TV doctor Mehmet Oz, bringing an end to one of the nastiest and most expensive campaigns of the year as both parties treated it as a potential tipping point for control of the chamber.
Fetterman will succeed Sen. Pat Toomey, a Republican who opted against seeking re-election.

And I know a lot of people who are Republicans, die-hard Conservatives, but when it comes to abortion, their take is, why shouldn’t people who can’t afford children not be allowed to abort, instead of going on welfare, and costing the taxpayers.
I’m surprised we’ve made it this far.
RE: I’ve been spending more time in The Word as well, Psalm 14 today…which I almost am floored by given the events today. That one hits me like a prophecy now.

Psalm 14
The LORD looks down from heaven on the sons of men to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God. All have turned aside, they have together become corrupt; there is no one who does good, not even one. Will evildoers never learn— those who devour my people as men eat bread and who do not call on the LORD?
I quoted that I think last week or so. A shame we both thought about it now.
Yep, DeSantis even flipped the Miami area:

Smartest post of the evening! Sent an email to a friend tonight who has bashed me for years for living in SoCal and asked me how I live in such a crazy place. Well, at least we have great weather and spectacular mountains, deserts and oceans to go with our crazy politicians. Our politicians are bad, but I don’t think any of them come close to Fetterman. There are no words for the voters of Pennsylvania to elect him.
I was deluged with the campaign promo. The Dems focused on Oz being a threat to “women’s right to choose” and hammered that one point all season. They made the whole campaign be about abortion.
This is the result.
Fetterman may be brain damaged, but he was not a threat to abortion, so Philly and the suburbs picked him.
They have some good competition in Nuevo México.
Oz took a month off for some reason and did not campaign.
He lost to a guy who cannot speak a coherent sentence.
I’m sure I’m not alone here, but I rarely watch TV, so I don’t see the ads, so I really don’t know what kind of impact they have. But I will say, a good ad campaign can get a bad candidate across the line. Biden and Fetterman are proof of that.
I know prominently, monied Rebugs there. Talk about a ‘country club mentality’. Ugh!!!
Knew this was going to happen.
Amen!!
Did they cheat? My money is on “Yes”. Better start investing now.
If so many people love killing children so much, then maybe our Nation doesn’t deserve to be saved.
FOAD
“Dems perfected the fraud in 2020 and 2022 is just a repeat.”
I’m reminded of what I said multiple times after watching the cheat of 2020: I kind of doubt I’ll be seeing another Republican president in my lifetime.
Strange given the fact he did not campaign, rarely spoke, lost the debate, had tiny crowds and online viewership. Yet somehow he magically wins?
WTF ever nOOb
We have to be activists on the issues. Some young women change their minds about abortion. A long time ago as an undergraduate, I had some dates with an ADPi. She was pro-life but felt badly about being pro abortion earlier.
