Former president Donald Trump set off a scramble Monday in the Republican Party after he threatened to upend the midterm elections by announcing his 2024 presidential bid on the eve of voting. Trump told people close to him Monday that he might announce his candidacy at a rally scheduled for Monday night in Ohio, according to three people familiar with the discussions who spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe confidential conversations, prompting a chain of phone calls from party leaders who have tried for months to keep him from announcing until after the midterms. Some of his advisers began communicating to others Monday that efforts needed to be made to talk him out of announcing, two of these people said, while other advisers were egging him on to jump in.

I honestly don’t see what difference it makes. We all know he’s running.

What Trump says between now and tomorrow night won’t change a thing. Neocons and dims hardest hit.

I don’t need them presiding over my demise any more than I need Nancy Pelosi or man-boobs Schumer.
I agree hopefully Trump will not muddy the waters and will not announce. As much as I like his policies I’m not convinced he is the best choice to announce now or later. I’m still ticked about what happened in Georgia in 2020 when voters were told not to vote over some squabble with Trump and the governor.

Not sure what difference it makes between doing it now or doing it tomorrow or next week. I think everyone knows he’s already running. He hasn’t been having all these rallies just for fun.

The election was stolen from him. The only thing that can rebalance things is to restore him to office, not...”elect someone new and let’s all move on”.
