This is a stupid escalation of hostilities.

The Black sea to Russia is like the Chesapeake or St Lawrence seaway or is to the US. Team Biden is too dangerous to have control of the nuclear football.

Potemkin Biden are a team of socially promoted professional virtue signalers, previously know to the logically thinking world as... dumbbells.

USS Rhode Island is Ohio Class displaces at 18,750 tonnes and as such is 3rd largest sub class - behind Russia’s Borei class at 24,000 tonnes and the Typhoon class at 48,000 tonnes

This would be a little like the Ruskies sending a SSBN into the Gulf of Mexico.

"It may be moving eastward, but that doesn’t mean its going there on patrol."

Technically speaking, every morning when I go from the master bedroom of my house to the bathroom, I'm, "heading toward the Black Sea."

It is 560 feet in length. It’s a big ‘un. I think Russia has one that is a little bit longer.

I doubt seriously it is headed for the Black Sea. There is no reason at all for it to go there.

The people and governments of Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine, and even Georgia would like to have a discussion with you about the significance of the Black Sea to their countries.

“This is a stupid escalation of hostilities.”

Calm down. It is not going to go to the Black Sea.

The Typhoons are the largest subs.

I don't believe there are any left in commission.

They aren't going to put a boomer in the Black Sea. My guess would be she's headed for the Atlantic.

I'm reminded when my sub made a call at Gibraltar back in 1963

They really do have monkeys in the streets there.

"If you’ve ever visited Gibraltar, a rock off the south of Spain that is United Kingdom territory, the most memorable thing about the place are the cheeky monkeys who have lived there for the past 300 years. "

So, the sub leave a scheduled port call…and all of a sudden it’s about nuclear war?

I love propaganda as much as the next guy, but this is silly. SSBNs are all over the place. We simply know where this one was.

so I doubt it actually makes it there

nor should they ... missiles from American subs can reach Russia just fine from the Mediterranean, there's no need to go into that enclosed trap known as the "Black Sea"

:)

I believe all submarines have to surface when transiting the Bosporus to & from the Black Sea. I really doubt we’re sending a sub to the Black Sea for that reason alone.

I saw the headline and wondered why they were crowing about a Russian sub leaving Gibraltar...
