DON'T PAY ATTENTION TO MANCHIN

Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) slammed President Biden for making “offensive and disgusting” comments about shutting down coal plants at an event in California on Friday.
Biden gave remarks at the corporate headquarters of Viasat, a global communications company, to promote the CHIPS and Science Act, which he signed into law in August to provide $50 billion in incentives to the domestic manufacturing of semiconductors.
Biden said that generating electricity from wind and solar energy is cheaper than generating it from coal and oil. He said people are not building new coal plants because they cannot rely on it.
“We’re going to be shutting these plants down all across America and having wind and solar,” he said.
Manchin said in a statement on Twitter that Biden’s comments ignore the “severe economic pain” that Americans are feeling because of rising energy costs.
“Comments like these are the reason the American people are losing trust in President Biden and instead believes he does not understand the need to have an all in energy policy that would keep our nation totally energy independent and secure,” he said.
Manchin, who has been a major advocate for coal plants during his time in the Senate — an industry that is still a large part of West Virginia’s economy — said Biden has never mentioned to him a plan to shut down coal plants. Manchin added that Biden owes an apology to coal workers in West Virginia and across the country who have lost their jobs.

You voted to slap a 20% tax on energy from fossil fuels. A tax intended to penalize Americans for the way we heat our homes. You are the Judas who enacted a law to help him shut down coal as an energy source. Just resign and go hide your face somewhere in Alaska.

Coal is HIGHLY reliable and has powered the country from the first central power station built by Edison in 1882. It is a million times more reliable than wind and solar.
The ONLY reason that we cannot rely on coal is GOVERNMENT.
Government creates a very unstable and unreliable business environment where you cannot make wise investment decisions based on market and economic forces. If you decide to build a coal-fired power plant today, the government can wipe out your billion dollar investment five years from now when you have finished construction and are ready to bring it on line.
No such governmental obstacles or uncertainties exist for the green wet dreams of wind and solar.

Then the very same GOVERNMENT says we cannot depend on coal because it is unreliable.

Hey, Manchin. If you’re serious, declare yourself independent and caucus with the GOP to take away the majority in the Senate from the Dems. Until you do that, you’re all talk.

Are you kidding? Manchin has played this tough guy act too many times to be taken seriously. Makes a big splash with conservative comments to appease his constituents, goes silent, makes a backroom deal, and votes with the DEMS.
