Millions of Americans are currently working two or more jobs in order to make ends meet, as global inflation and corporations jacking up prices have sent prices of food, gas, housing, health insurance and other necessities soaring in the past year.
Cashe Lewis, 31, of Denver, Colorado works two jobs and is currently trying to find a third job to cover the recent $200 monthly rent increase to her apartment. She works days as a barista at Starbucks, but claims it’s been difficult to get enough hours even with taking extra shifts whenever she can due to scheduling cuts as part of the crackdown on union organizing by management.
At night she works at a convenience store because the hours are reliable, and works six days a week, often 16 hours a day.
“I’m exhausted all the time,” said Lewis. “On the one day I have off a week, I donate plasma for extra money. I’m literally selling my blood to eat because I have no choice.”

Wait till the food and energy shortages kick in next year.
Paying rent will be the least of worries.
Time to prep is now.

Jobiden says work harder! There are millions of people we have to support and millions more coming!!
As a side note, experts assure us not to worry about the possible effects of the experimental MRNA injections on the blood supply.
Actually I don’t think the experts talk about this at all.
I see a lot of people that are living above their means and have no idea how to cut expenses.Maybe she should take in a roommate?
Of course the Guardian sees no connection between the two. Corporations are just "jacking up prices" because they're greedy.
Nitwits.
Two or more jobs doesn’t always mean you arehaveing trouble. I had a job and two side hustles for years, not to “make ends meet” but to get ahead and because one of them was enjoyable but actually made little money. Retired at 60 and continued to do the fun one.
We’ve all known people who make plenty of money but overspend and are always on the edge, have bad credit etc. We’ve all known people who don’t make big money but are able to live within their means.
The largest problem is people aren’t properly educated about how to handle money and “get ahead”.
"Only two jobs? Why you lazy lima bean!"
Yep, they just cannot bring themselves to turn against the Biden monster that they put into power. Nothing is Bidens fault don’t you know! I freakin’ hate the media with a passion. I usually look up the writers of these articles and confront them usually on Facebook or Twitter. None of them ever write back to me. Here’s the jerk who wrote this one.....
Is “The Guardian” going to raise wages/salaries for their employees or just virtue signal?
After working 70-hour weeks, she left her full-time job due to burnout, but still works two jobs while trying to get a side hustle off the ground and limiting her work hours to no more than 50 hours a week.

I am really moving to sitting on the fence and just watching this all unfold.
Been reading a book, “When Money Dies” by Ferguson.
Found a cliff-notes version last night on YouTube. I am feeling more and more like we cannot get a handle on any of this. And very much like the people of Weimar, millions are uneducated regarding money. Not saving it, not investing it, but how the monetary system flows, money velocity, and how a reserve currency functions within the global scale.
The cliff-notes version I listened to last night left me less than hopeful for the immediate future. AND it was incredibly interesting listening to all the tactics Weimar Germany tried from WWI until the crash to stabilize things. Even switching to a gold type standard failed. At some point it all fails because the economic damage is too great.
Listening to the excerpts did not give me a good nights rest. The only take-a-way was learn to grow food, have a market size garden if you can. All the other schemes fail.
It really was quite disturbing to realize history is indeed about to repeat itself.

There are things we are not in control of but there are some things we are in control of.
We are given a short sword to engage other individuals. We must engage them, if they don’t want to engage, shake the dust from feet and move on until you do find one, then camp and disciple.

The blood supply is done because of the mrna shot.
The secret to side hustles is to find one that can become your road to self-employment. A “job” isn’t likely to ever make one financially independent. A job is way for someone else to profit off your labor. Which means you aren’t reaching your full potential. This can be fine if you are highly skilled, but if you aren’t it will never lead to independence, just a lifetime of dependence on the next job and a unsatisfactory retirement.
My favorite stories are those similar to a friend of mine who never went to college, started selling water skis out of the trunk of his car and built a multi-million dollar business and retired in his early 60’s.
I did it with a side hustle of buying cheap land starting with $5k I saved from a low-paying job at age 30. My jobs would never have brought financial independence.
