In a memo to all staff on Thursday, workers were told they would receive a message in their private accounts if sacked.
While those keeping their jobs would receive the news in their work emails.
The email subject is menacingly titled "Your Role at Twitter" and will land in inboxes by 4pm UK time on Friday.
A source told The Sun that "circa 1,000 staff" at the UK offices in London and Manchester are at risk of losing their jobs.
It is unclear how many people Twitter employs in the UK.

Yes, that’s normal. Having handled payroll and HR for years in several companies, this is SOP. They’ll get severance, but will be gone.
