The Democratic Party is, historically, in trouble in the midterm elections next week. Not only does the party in power nearly always lose seats in the midterms, but usually not even a popular president can save them. An unpopular president will nearly always cause his party to be trounced. Let’s go back to the 1930s and see what generally occurs.
The Great Depression hit the country in 1929. Republican Herbert Hoover was the president that year, and even though he really had nothing to do with the coming of the Depression (his response to it was horrific, though), still, he was president, so the Republicans suffered. In 1930, they lost 52 seats in the House and eight in the Senate. Since Hoover’s response to the Depression only made it worse, not only did he lose the presidency to Franklin Roosevelt in 1932 by a huge margin, but the Republicans lost 101 more seats in the House and 12 more in the Senate. After that, except for 1946 and 1952, the Democrats controlled the House of Representatives consistently until 1994.
FDR was probably the greatest politician in American history. That isn’t intended to be a compliment. My point here is, he was a masterful coalition-builder, able to buy votes more successfully than any other politician in our country’s history. His policies, domestic and foreign, were, by and large, disastrous (ask Eastern Europe), but he was the consummate “Teflon” president and won the presidency four times. The strain finally killed him in 1945.

Don’t count your chickens before they are fried................
The only thing that can save them is martial law.
Coming soon.
Yes, get your ducks on the pond.
That or a repeat of 2020 on steroids.
Coming soon.
And massive election fraud.
My prediction still stands: House goes narrowly GOP while Senate is up in the air.
...or people not voting.
I figure the massive election fraud will come first, then martial law after 20 people or so complain in public about the stolen elections.
Isn’t this what was said last time?
I was sure last time had to be major wins for Repub. but again, the commies in our neighborhoods doubled down on violence and tyranny.
It’s a serious concern.
After 2 terms of Obama, I think Hillary was supposed to finalize the transformation after she won in 2016. The Democrats were outraged that this was “stolen” from them.
They tried to destroy Trump’s movement and put him in jail, but this failed. The Democrats were outraged again.
If the voters reclaim the republic for the people, it will be too much for the Democrats to bear. They will feel it all slipping away and they will do the unthinkable.
I’m expecting the ‘Rats to pull a LuLa.
I’d even bet on it.
FDR was the originator of “never let a crisis go to waste”
yes. Hillary was telegraphing during her campaign that they were going after political opponents and shutting down free speech. This was after she and holder tried to eliminate 2A with their fast and furious treason.
Maybe so. I think, if they were able to get away with fraud in the presidential election, it should be easy to cheat in the mid terms. I hope I am wrong, but I am not confident.
Agreed. The GOP is getting way ahead of themselves. They should have learned from 2020.
Huh?
In a normal country the dems would lose in a landslide, no one wants the country to be invaded, no one wants massive amounts of fentanyl killing tens of thousands of Americans, no one wants boys in girls sports, no one wants the sexual mutilation of children, no one wants a massive crime wave. But, this isn’t a normal country any more. We now have massive vote by mail, and Big Tech in control.
The ONLY way for the dems to get what’s coming to them is for every normal person out there to go and VOTE as if your life depends on it, because it does.
Praying the all get “cheneyed”. Too much to hope for?
