Former President Donald Trump’s legal team thought that getting a case challenging Georgia’s election results before Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas was their “only chance” to derail the Jan. 6, 2021 congressional vote count certifying the election of Joe Biden, newly published emails show.
“We want to frame things so that Thomas could be the one to issue some sort of stay or other circuit justice opinion saying Georgia is in legitimate doubt,” Trump attorney Kenneth Chesebro wrote in a Dec. 31, 2020 message to his colleagues obtained by Politico.
Though the states had certified Biden as the winner of the 2020 election, Trump’s legal team was trying a variety of ways to stall Congress from officially counting the votes.
In the same message, Chesebro added that Thomas would be “our only chance to get a favorable judicial opinion by Jan. 6, which might hold up the Georgia count in Congress.”

If true, this is all legal.
Again, no one was trying to “overturn” an election. There was ample reason to delay a certification based on massive evidence of fraud, though.

Probably because it didn't happen. There was no process by which Justice Thomas could "overturn 2020 vote".
The best he could have done would have been to hand down a judicial opinion "which might hold up the Georgia count in Congress.” I.e., send it back to the state(s) on the basis of evidence indicating the count was in violation of state statutes and constitutions.
When Trump first came in he had his chance to reform elections simply by insisting on it, and by rousing his supporters to weed out the system of election fraud. Extreme pressure(non-violent) should have been put on the federal and state legislatures to make voting secure. People should have been constantly reminded of election fraud before the 2020 election. Not after it. All the good things that Trump did were reversed shortly after he left. Trump thought that he could beat the fraud again and he was dead wrong. Baring a miracle then this country is now doomed.
Who knew that the Supreme Court would reject a suit by 20 US States by saying they had no standing?

Justice Thomas did nothing here yet the cry will re-emerge to impeach him because of what might have been.

The RATs got so upset about the electoral college that they actually murdered 150 Black Republican voters. U.S. Grant had to call on General Ranald S. Mackenzie and his Cavalry to get the RAT bastards under control in D.C. The RATS just aren’t good at democracy. They prefer their “democrazy” brand where they get to make crap up as they go along so they can win all the time.
Hind sight is always 20/20. Covid opened up a world of fraud , that was quickly seized upon and invested in by those with lots of money and influence. State constitutional laws were openly ignored or changed at the last minute in many places...because of “public safety”. Trump never had the swamp working with him, which he would’ve needed to make elections actually secure early on, something the creatures in DC clearly have no interest in.

Well it may be hind site for some, but back in those days posts could be found here that I made where I was very upset that Trump was not doing anything real about vote fraud after he was elected. Just a small amount of vision goes a long ways.
