The Biden administration's cyberdefense agency director is warning midterm election voters to expect "errors" and "glitches" that "happen in every election" — like a "pipe will burst" — but she says that is "normal" and "not nefarious," and the media should fall in line on that narrative.
"There are going to be errors, there are going to be glitches — it happens in every election," according to Jen Easterly, director for the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) in the Department of Homeland Security, speaking at the Center for Strategic and International Studies symposium Tuesday.
"But that's why there are multiple layers of security controls and resilience built into the system."
Easterly added an urge for the media to not suggest "glitches" are "nefarious."
"So, to the media, that's where I really want to ask for everybody's help, because these things are going to happen," she continued. "Somebody will forget their key to the polling place. A water pipe will burst.
"These are normal things. They're not nefarious. It's super important that folks get the word out on how elections work."
Easterly's mention of a water pipe burst is a reference to the 2020 presidential election concern of former President Donald Trump, which reportedly led to ballot counters to be sent home in the middle of the night.
"Elections are not over when the polling place closes," Easterly continued. "There's so much work to be done to ensure there is reconciliation of provisional ballots, counting of absentee ballots, military voters.
"We all need to let the machinery of democracy work."
Among other noteworthy remarks from Easterly on Tuesday related to election security and integrity:

He meant errors and glitches that always support the democrat party are normal.
Cheating is normal? Good to know.
they’re admitting it early...
Translation: “Every socialist candidate will win by at least 81 million votes.”
Setting up for the BIG glitch eh? Sad dang state of affairs.
It’s called “Fraud”!!
“We have some stuff planned which will blow your mind, but we ask that you ignore it and pretend that it’s normal.”
Funny how they almost always “glitch” in favor of the dem candidate.
He is no IT professsional, that is certain.
If your systems are setup using best practices and properly maintained and monitored there is nothing to glitch or error.
Keep in mind I am not talking about windows desktops. I am talking about enterprise infrastructure that includes switches, routers, servers, etc. I have windows servers that have don their thing for most of their lifespan without unscheduled maintenance. I have firewalls that have not been rebooted in years outside of those reboots necessary for firmware updates or security patches. I also have a couple unix servers that have not been rebooted in over a decade.
So my point is, he is making excuses and relying on people to think in terms of their windows desktops. People associate issues with windows desktops. Systems that the election infrastructure uses do not have those issues. They are only vaguely related to windows desktop computers. If they run windows at all they are running an trimmed down embedded version that has 90% less crap going on and is therefore vastly more stable and secure.
So lies to obfuscate the fix. The fix is certainly in. expect it.
Especially when those “glitches” favor the democrat party, 100% of the time.
I just saw your response after I posted the same thought. LOL
Those lost ballots, glitches, errors, last minute trucks with ballots, all of those instances seem to have a common theme....
They all break big for democrats.
The democrats are going to cheat and keep control of both houses of Congress. The American people will protest the stolen election and the federal government will say that democracy is being threatened by the protests and will then unleash the federal thugs to arrest the patriotic protesters, just like in every other country that has been taken over by communism. I can see it now.
Will they later ask for AMNESTY?
Errors and glitches are normal. Sometimes they are just more normal than other times.
You’re likely spot on.
An Appeal to Heaven 🌲 🙏🏻, for intervention.
They are NOT normal in properly architected, programed and tested applications.
