I was wondering where the first reference was to this ‘Where’s Nancy” thing... it appears on this CNN clip that John Berman is giving credit to Jamie Gangel as being the first to report on it (2 minute, 50 second mark).
So the #3 in line to the presidency has no home security personnel or cameras ?Interesting.

Once it's established that the guy is crazy, "usually" is off the table, but judging from movies, yes, bathroom breaks are a thing when somebody breaks into your house or holds you hostage.

368 (d) Penal Code defines punishment for Persons not in a caretaker relationship.
(e) defines it for caretakers.
368 (f) defines punishments for “a person” - doesn’t matter if they are in a relationship or not.
Elder abuse most commonly comes up with caretakers so that may be what the attorney is familiar with.
Anyway, in this particular case, I would guess this is a charge that will get dismissed as part of the deal making.
The Defense may even go for mentally incompetent for this example of Berkeley Wild Man.
