Pittsburgh police said six people were shot outside a funeral in the city's Brighton Heights neighborhood Friday.
All six victims were reported to be in stable condition, police said.
The shooting happened just after noon outside a funeral service for John James Hornezes, Jr., one of the three killed in a shooting on Pittsburgh's North Side on Oct. 15. That service was being held at the Destiny of Faith Church on Brighton Street.
A source says someone was driving by the church in a vehicle and fired shots. Police were not able to confirm that's where the shots came from but did say there was "most likely" more than one shooter.
Police said they believe the shooting was targeted.

Gainey was asked at one point if he though the shooting at this funeral was out of retribution. The mayor said he didn’t have all the information, but again, Pittsburgh police did confirm that this appeared to be a targeted shooting.

John Hornezes dead and obituary, Pittsburgh shooting cause of death
One of those killed in the Pittsburgh shooting over the weekend had ties to Homer City.
One of three people reportedly shot and killed in an incident in Pittsburgh’s North Side was 33-year-old Jacquelyn C. Mehalic. Her obituary says she has four young children who live in Homer City, the daughters of Bridget and John Mehalick Jr., both from Homer City.
Jacquelyn and Betty Jean Averytt, 59, were innocent bystanders in the Cedar Avenue shooting. The pair were waiting for the bus when gunshots rang out in the nearby Sunoco parking lot. A third victim, 20-year-old Pittsburgh resident John Hornezes, died in hospital. Pittsburgh police believe he was one of those involved in the shooting. A fourth was shot in the leg but was able to drive himself to the hospital. His name has not been released, and it is not known whether he was involved in the shooting.
Averytt’s family set up GoFundMe to help pay for funeral expenses. The family of mother-of-four Jacquelyn Mehalic described her as “an amazing, loving, all-around beautiful person”. Pittsburgh Mayor Ed Gainey said: “There is no reason for anyone to see this type of killer on the street.”
At a news conference Monday, Gainey, police and community leaders called for justice. “My heart hurts today. My heart hurts because I’m sick of seeing young talent and people who can’t live here right now,” said Pittsburgh outreach coordinator Cornell Jones.
“I know someone knows something. I can’t imagine coming home without a mother, my mother lost in the violence. I can’t imagine what it’s like, four motherless kids in a pointless shootout In … we know someone knows some things … we can work on some of those together,” Gainey said. A fourth injured person was shot in the leg and cannot be identified.
Mehalic’s funeral arrangements were handled by Bowser Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Homer City. Details of services and access will be announced in the obituary on our midday newscast.
