Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen finalized their divorce in recent days after 13 years of marriage, the Buccaneers quarterback announced on Instagram Friday.
“We arrived at this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together,” Brady wrote on his Instagram story. “We are blessed with beautiful and wonderful children who will continue to be the center of our world in every way. We will continue to work together as parent to always ensure they receive the love an attention they deserve.”
Reports of “marital issues” between Brady and Bündchen emerged after the seven-time Super Bowl champion un-retired shortly after walking away from the NFL following the 2021–22 season. Brady later took a leave of absence during training camp to “deal with personal things,” Bucs coach Todd Bowles said at the time.
Brady and Bündchen had reportedly been “living separately” prior to Friday’s announcement and CNN reported earlier this week that the couple had hired divorce attorneys.
“Doing so is, of course, painful and difficult, like it is for many people who go through the same thing every day around the world,” Brady continued on Instagram. “However, we wish only the best for each other as we pursue whatever new chapters in our lives are yet to be written.”
Bündchen released a similar statement on Instagram Friday, asking for privacy on the matter moving forward.
“The decision to end a marriage is never easy but we have grown apart and while it is, of course, difficult to go through something like this, I feel blessed for the time we had together and only wish the best for Tom always,” she wrote.
The couple had been married since 2009 and have two children together.

Tom Brady seems to prefer getting chased and pounded by huge monsters rather than laying with a voluptuos, gorgeous woman. Must have taken too many shots to the head over 25 years of playing football.
Divorcing a witch is always a good idea. But I doubt Tom realizes she is literally a witch. Absent the dark arts propping Tom up, he is going to take a dive; it’s already noticeable.
Well, Tom, was it worth it to throw away your marriage for this embarrassing season that makes it painfully clear you are over the hill??
I don’t find her very attractive.
She made more money than he did. She was a supermodel.
So there is nothing holding Tommy back... He can now play forever.
Frankly though... Smelling jockstraps every day, instead of smelling Gisele (who I’m sure smells as sweet and spicy as pumpkin pie) wouldn’t be my preference over a bunch of roided up dudes.
So she’s put a spell on him... Interesting... Maybe she’s the one responsible for his entire career. He’ll likely suffer a career ending neck injury later this year... Then we’ll know for sure that she’s a witch.
The year they won the Super Bowl their early season was not much better.
The season is not over, and I am not ready to write Tom Brady off.
Football isn’t exactly a 52 week a year job, IIRC.
I don’t think it’s ever easy to break up after that many years, especially with kids.
(And I’d certainly not want to be married to anyone who only stayed for lack of ‘options’.)

He got her at the height of her beauty as a supermodel. Now that she’s gone, he can get another one.

Well you don’t marry a girl just for her beauty.
And you don’t stop your marriage just because your wife is older. Everybody gets old.
Giselle is 42 years old. He’s just trading her in for two 21-year-olds.

I've known "perfect couples" who hid how they really were until they couldn't anymore. The divorce paperwork was eye-popping.
How do they get a divorce settled in a month?
It usually takes 3 months minimum.
Perhaps he wasn’t a great husband?
