On Tuesday night, we finally saw Lt. Governor John Fetterman debate GOP candidate Mehmet Oz in Pennsylvania. It was painful to watch. By the end, I felt sorry for Fetterman and was angry at his family for allowing this to happen. How does a wife allow permit this? How badly does she want to be a senator's wife?
According to Reuters, Democrats are in massive damage control. Here is a bit of that:
"I don’t know anyone, even the most staunch Fetterman supporters, who think that went well last night," a senior Pennsylvania Democrat told Reuters on Wednesday.
Yes, that's a honest Democrat speaking anonymously.
Here is a bigger problem. Huge numbers of voters cast their ballots already:
Nearly half of all vote-by-mail ballots in Pennsylvania had already been cast before Tuesday night’s U.S. Senate debate, which was judged a disaster -- even by Democrats -- after Lt. Gov. John Fetterman (D), recovering from a stroke, struggled to form coherent sentences.
Fetterman had sought to avoid a debate, and his campaign has restricted his public appearances.. When he finally agreed to one, Democrats sought to delay the debate until ballots were already being cast by mail, since Democrats are more likely to use that method and more of the party’s vote would already be cast.
We are taking about 48% of the votes are in. Are those Democrats who were encouraged to vote early? Or motivated GOP voters angry over inflation? We will learn soon.

A better question: “How many mail in and absentee votes are fraudulent?”
No such thing as an "honest Democrat". Falls in the same category as "fairy dust" and "non-binary genders".
“ ballots were already being cast by mail, since Democrats are more likely to use that method ”
Lazy. Unless you are incapable, go to the polls and vote.
Some states allow you to “spoil” your mail-in ballot and vote on Election Day. Michigan is one. Pennsylvania is not. However, in PA you can vote in person on Election Day if you receive a ballot in the mail, but you have to take the ballot and outer envelope to your voting place. It cannot already be mailed. lightman is an election judge, he may have something to add.
Didn’t we see Republicans voting day of and Dems voting early before?
I voted early, in person, yesterday.
It’s the only time I had to present ID when voting. (Chester County PA)
Maybe a lot. That’s why fetterman postponed the debate as long as he did.
Where do you vote early in-person?
“We are taking about 48% of the votes are in. Are those Democrats who were encouraged to vote early? Or motivated GOP voters angry over inflation? We will learn soon.”
Toss all the Fetterman votes and give those who now wish to change their votes to vote for Dr. Oz.
Crying over spilled milk.
It was some government building. I went through a metal detector and two cops and a Belgian Malinois were there too.
I just looked up early voting, selected my county, and emailed them.
QED - Game over
How many want their votes back? Republicans - none. Democrats - probably none. They vote for anything that has a “D” next to its name as long as it has a pulse.
Okay. I didn’t think it would be your normal precinct.
It wasn’t. I’m just lucky to live 2 miles outside the County seat.
I don’t understand why Fetterman did any debate.
I thought they would cancel right before.
I’ll wait for Election Day. My voting place is across the street from the entrance to my neighborhood. I’d have to go into Harrisburg to vote early by the sounds of it. Parking is a pain in the butt.
I hate Harrisburg. I used to do electric designs for PPL.
I’ll be elsewhere for Election Day.
You were probably working on Derry Street at PP&L. Quite a dumpy area, but there are worse in Harrisburg
