It bothers me that an American citizen is being punished for the actions of her government, but given what the government is up to, I’m afraid there is no way out for her.

I am sure the judge was impressed with her Jimi Hendrix shirt.

If I was the judge I would have said: “Are You Experienced?”

“Welcome to the Russian Experience.”

;-)

He was from the Kennedy. I saw the film in 81-82 time frame , he was still in jail from what we were told. Not sure what his sentence was but I do remember they charged him as a dealer.

"She had 0.7g total of cannabis oil so it is equivalent to one large partially smoked cannabis cigarette or two small partially smoked cigs.

False. You are not factoring in the strength of the oil, which is generally 80-90% THC. A joint made of ground flower can be anywhere from 10% to 35%(rare and very expensive) THC, depending on the strain. A full 1 gram vape cartridge is the equivalent of 10 to 15 1g joints, which is around a 1/2 oz of flower.

There were a lot of guys who smoked pot back then, and when I went to parties and declined to partake, it made people suspicious. I had a guy tell me after I got out that people thought I was a narc!

Well, they treated me okay to my face...:)

But I would have never, ever done that kind of thing overseas.

I think she/he/it will continue to blame the United States for “allowing” this to happen to her/him/it.

How are our “January 6th Insurrection” Zeks doing in the D.C. Gulag these days?

Several female ballplayers (and hockey players) have their breasts surgically removed to give them better performance on the court. She may have been trying to act like a man, but she was born a female—in reference to the above post that she has male junk.

If she did have male equipment, there is next-to-no chance that Russia would put her in a female prison. They're not down with the decadent U.S. on that stuff.

Where’s the NBC report on the deplorable conditions of the J6 prisoners who shouldn’t even be there?

I think it would be educational and enlightening for all flag trashers and America haters to spend some time in the gulag

If they still hate America after that then they can stay in Russia

Problem solved

She’s lucky she was not caught carrying drugs in Singapore or Indonesia.
Now watch the US jumping through hoops trying to get her back and when she’s back, watch her shit all over the US and Uncle Stupid will give her a ticker tape parade on Broadway so that she can shit on the US one more time.
How is it that stupid people can build a great nation like ours?

She is set in her opinion of the US.

She may even try to sue the US for not getting her back immediately.

10% does not exist in legal states. About 20% total flower is the MINIMUM people will buy nowdays unless it’s a rare nostalgic strain. Average is about 25% and maximum is 35%.

The cartridges are typically 70-80% to maintain liguid flow and 90%+ is only for harder extracts that would clog an ecig.

1g joints are considered “small” nowdays.

2g-3g joints are considered “large”. Seasoned smokers will even add oil or hash on top of that and finish in one sitting.

“It amazes me how many Americans think they can go to foreign countries and not be subject to their laws.”

Are you trying to tell me if I get arrested in a foreign country that the President will not immediately send a black ops mission led by Chuck Norris, Steven Seagal, or Sylvester Stallone to rescue me, no matter what the cost in American lives or taxpayer dollars???

Because I’ve been led to believe otherwise!

You saw a “training” film that mentioned that guy? I’m not surprised. They lectured us, probably sent out mimeographed copies (that blue text) to all the division officers and such before the first port call.

Ahh. Liberty.

Funny. I remember my very first port of call was Edinboro, Scotland. Very memorable. My squadron was the VA-46 Clansmen, so it was a big to-do for the officers, who put on their ceremonial glengarry hats and went to visit the MacDougall Clan castle at a big reception (That was the MacDougall Tartan painted on our planes)

We went ashore in our blues, and the population there was the friendliest at any port I ever visited. They treated us like gold. I had an older guy buy me a few drinks in a pub, then asked me if I wanted to come home and meet his family and go bowling with them the next night.

I was really touched by the offer, but it was kind of odd to be invited to go bowling. Some years later I mentioned that to someone, and they said that going bowling in Scotland was a bit of a big deal, you had to make reservations to go and all.

But nice people.

LOL, I think the next port of call was Portsmouth, England, and as soon as I stepped off the ship, a really nice looking gal started talking to me, and next thing I knew we were going to some dance somewhere. When we got there, it cost something like five dollars a person to get in, and to someone who was making $5000 a year, that was significant.

Well, as soon as we got inside, she was gone. I looked around for her, but there were a lot of people and I just couldn’t find her. I left after about an hour, and as I was walking out, I saw her walking in with another sailor, who was buying tickets to get both of them in!

Boy, did I ever feel like a putz.

The next port of call was Brest, France. Those people were the unfriendliest of any port I ever went to. We had to wear our uniforms, and I remember nothing else about that port of call except for an elderly couple who passed us, and they actually glowered at me and my shipmates. I was taken aback.

Then, I think the last port of call on that short North Atlantic cruise in 1976 was Bremerhaven. My two memories of that liberty there were how huge, sprawling, and industrially dirty it looked from the ocean as we approached it, and the beer hall we went to.

There were about a dozen of us, and we went into an honest to goodness beer hall, where they had the music playing and all. I got pretty hammered there, and I remember banging our mugs on the table in time with the music, all of us grinning and laughing uproariously. I brought my mug down so hard on the table the glass handle just snapped right off the mug! That is a fun little vignette that I see in my memory now.

So much happened on that one two-three month cruise, my first one. We had a Tomcat go over the side, and that night, we collided with the USS Bordelon. On both events, I was fast asleep in the cockpit of my plane. I got my BlueNose Certificate, and froze my ass of because they didn’t have real cold weather gear, only utility jackets rated for temperatures down to 40 degrees....this in September through the beginning of December even going up above the Arctic Circle. We had to get rags from the bales they gave us to clean the planes, and stuff them down our shirts to try to stay warm. Heh, it was funny seeing the bales get ripped open, and it was like watching women at some clothing sale at Filene’s Basement in Boston! Everyone trying to get the choice rags! I was learning the flight deck trade as a Plane Captain. It was all so new.

I will say this: one of the things I loved about Ronald Reagan was his rebuilding of the 600 ship Navy, and giving them the money to operate and train. During the mid-late Seventies we spent a lot of time in port because I think money to steam and fly was more restricted. And we had to make do with crappy jackets like that. But I think having more time in port was okay, too...

Dang.

That was nearly fifty years ago! Time sure does fly...:)
