Bubba Wallace missed Sunday’s NASCAR race, and that’s evidently not his only sanction after losing his cool in Las Vegas last weekend.
Denny Hamlin — who, along with Michael Jordan, co-owns the 23XI racing team that Wallace drives for — said Oct. 22 that the team has dealt with matters in a way that goes “above and beyond” the penalties handed down by NASCAR.
Hamlin didn’t say what that means, choosing to keep those matters in-house.
One racing analyst that "means" Wallace will have to forfeit a big chunk of money out of his 23XI purse, possibly more than $1 million in fines.
“He understands where I stand, where the team stands, the values that we want to present on the racetrack, and he just didn’t represent it that well last week,” Hamlin said. “But, you know, in the grand scheme of things, we’re very happy with his progress. And he knows he’s still got some stuff to work on when he gets out of the race car.”
NASCAR drvier Bubba Wallace attacks Kyle Larson in Las Vegas
That may not be enough to satisfy sport critcs - and fans, however.
As we have reported, former NASCAR Cup Series driver and current analyst for NBC Sports Kyle Petty made it clear he disagrees with NASCAR’s punishment and believes Wallace should have been suspended for the rest of the season.
And there is a spreading demand among NASCAR fans for principal sponsor McDonald's to drop Wallace completely...which would cost him and the team a huge sum.

We had a bar in italy that had a open second floor to the first floor . 4 ballistic windows w gun ports with 4 old guys with 10 gauge shotguns. Never saw a fight there “indoors” ......
I like the hot oil just as well .....
Well i will never eat at McDonald’s or watch a NASCAR race again because of Bubba Wallace ................ easy decision, never eat at Micky-D’s and quit watching TV when Obama got elected.
What some people will go through to provide half breed “diversity” boggles the mind
“ He and his woke handlers and NASCAR wokesters have ruined the sport- they all got behind him and basically bolstered his false claims of racism by coddling him”
NASCAR was fooled and suckered by BLM and still haven’t recovered
They look like fools being led around the nose by stupid libtards
They made him eat a fake burger at McDonald’s
“Rubbin is Racin”
Ah, the ‘unwritten rules’ of sport. As it was explained to this Yankee many years ago... there’s things you can do on a short-track that will get your opponents a little bit excited if you try them going into a corner at 160 mph.
Wrecking someone on PURPOSE should get you suspended for the entire season unless the season is more than halfway over, and then it should get you suspended for the rest of the season and half the next season!
“He understands where I stand, where the team stands, the values that we want to present on the racetrack, and he just didn’t represent it that well last week,” Hamlin said.
Hamlin said that? Haha, pot meet kettle...
I can’t breathe...
Wrecking someone on purpose should get a person banned from the sport and pay a huge fine.
His behavior proves it.
The higher ups in Nascar enthusiastically embraced blm, and kneeled during the anthem etc. They also went woke rising about the second amendment and the rebel flag, and thye en race lgbtq as well I beleive. This all, began happening when one particular higher up took over- can’t remeber his name now-
“There is video of the whole incident on youtube from several angles- and Larson clearly did not hit wallace- and it’s clear that wallace freaked out and lost control and hit the wall starting the whole thing-”
Larson took his share of blame: I got loose and chased it up a bit.
Larson had no reason to take any blame. All drivers have hat happen to them on many different difficult corners on certain racetracks, and the other driver doesn’t freak out like Bubba did and cause a wreck. His car never touched Bubbas, and as mentioned, plentY of drivers have been In The exact same scenario and not crashed. I’ve seen drivers right side by side on that corner and others like it, rubbin paint off and not crash. Larson had nothing g to apologize for. I wouldn’t doubt for one minute if he was forced to make that statement because according to Nascar and Bubba himself, Bubba can never be responsible for anything.
“I wouldn’t doubt for one minute if he was forced to make that statement because according to Nascar and Bubba himself,”
I bet you don’t follow NASCAR. Larson was being totally honest about what happened.
Lol ok. We all didn’t see what we saw! As stated, many drivers have been In similar or worse situations on the racks and never crashed. Bubba blew it. Larson had no reason to apologize. He caught his car before causing an accident, and Bubba freaked out, then he blamed larson and attacked him both on track in his car and off track outside the car. Bubba is a freaking thug and a hothead with mental problems.
hot enough
“Larson had no reason to apologize.”
He didn’t apologize. I bet you don’t follow NASCAR.
He had no reason to take any heat off hothead thug Bubba who freaked out and caused the wreck. The video shows exactly what I have stated larson had no reason to take any blame for anything. He got his car under co trol with p,snty of room to spare for Bubba- Bubba blew it! Had larson bumped Bubba after sliding up,the track he wou,d have been to blame- that is not what happend however
Trying and failing to turn this discussion into a personal insult won’t help your case any. You have no,idea what I watch or what I follow- so Stick to the issue. Larson was not to blame for bubbas bad driving g and overreaction to tight driving conditions. Plenty of drivers have been In much tighter situations repeatedly and not b,own it like Bubba did. Larson had his car under control after sliding up the track and was able to avoid contact with bubba-
